WTF happened to the Limon thread?
That thread was straight diesel fire some of the best stuff to come out on 2p2 even if it was from that goofy G Limon. Dude is talking about million dollar games and playing poker around the world and the thread gets locked?!?! Mods what are we doing here? Don't doubt this will get locked too.
I think your banning percentage of 15 % is misleading. As far as I know, the vast majority of all accounts that were banned was because of blatant advertising

mason, your mods literally banned a guy because in his well thread he posted a link to his personal blog and that was deemed "advertising"
you banned the word a*d*b*l*o*c*k* where it gets censored if you type it out normally

i'm aware you needed to drive revenue via ads, keep people here instead of linking them elsewhere, but things were taken way too far at times to absurd levels that it was clearly not advertising/spamming but the person was banned anyway

He even posted the Kaufman hint — poker is meaningless and being a living legend in poker is the same as being the greatest elevator button pusher or some other menial job that is going away. The thread is for nostalgia and laughs, nothing more.

I get it. I'm not a fan, but the thread had some interesting stories and good interactions. Some people enjoyed it. Since I'm not a fan, I mostly stayed out of it, until this week when I pointed out that making mods come clean up constant arguments is a waste of forum resources. It's his thread, but there are still rules on the forum, and the way he spoke to people consistently crossed a line. Imagine you're the mod, not getting paid, monitoring a defunct poker forum, and have to go in each day and read a bunch of expletive filled arguments between two idiots and decide who's right, whose posts to edit, whose posts to remove. It's tedious.
This thread is going to look for the villains who got limon banned. Limon got limon banned.
The internet used to be fun 20 years ago. It's just so boring and confined now. People are too precious and fragile.

Good riddance. The dude is clearly a narcissistic douche. Thread was good for the first 10 pages or so but after that it just became a blog filled with an out of touch boomer's incoherent rambling.
As someone who briefly fought with limon in that thread (and several times in the past on other platforms), here are my thoughts:
- I do not support the closure of the thread. It was obnoxious to read at times, but it wasn't really causing any harm. It was getting a lot of activity. It already had a ton of posts. It was not spam of any kind. For those reasons, it should have stayed open.
- Those saying, "Limon was only attacking those trolling him" are either lying or unaware. Limon was attacking anyone who slightly disagreed with him on anything. In fact, he bashed me in the thread before I made a single post there. I'm not complaining about this, and gave it right back to him, but it's completely false to state that Limon was just minding his own business and only being rude to the trolls.
- Limon has a lot of stories from his 25+ years in the gambling world, and some people find those interesting. However, a lot of his advice is of the "easier said than done" variety, and isn't particularly helpful to anyone. The recurring advice in the thread was, "Find a steady income stream related to poker, but not directly from playing, and then you can supplement it with whatever you win from playing." Not exactly deep stuff there. But he'd pat himself on the back like he was dispensing the wisdom of a sage.
- Limon has a bad drinking problem. Anyone who has seen him around Commerce knows exactly what I'm talking about. Drunk Limon is insufferable, and that came through loud and clear in the thread.
With all of that said, I don't hate limon. I may even have him on my show again sometime. And I'll probably go up and say hello to him next time I see him at Commerce, as we've never formally met.
Am I surprised he got banned here? No.
Was he likely abusive to the mods trying to keep his thread under control? Yes.
Should the thread have been closed? I don't see a reason for that to have been done.
I can't lie its pretty awesome seeing DanDruff back on 2p2 and coming in with the heat! That aside yeah Limon can be a dick but he was provided solid content in that thread even besides poker strategy and it should stay up.
I never read his thread my only experience of him was posting complete garbage in various other threads might have something to do with the ban hammer. Guy seemed like a fantasist desperate for attention, true legends don't act like that.

It’s like I’m in a twilight zone. Does no one understand the info Limón shares is worth 100,000 to millions in ones poker career? He’s been there done that.
I followed some Limon thread advice and guess what? Poker is now enjoyable and i won way more than I normally would.
Been a player for 25 years btw.

I had a few run-ins with him, but just quit following because I thought that he was a spoiled, delusional, loser and a waste of time. Opened or closed, who cares...
Limon might be spoiled and delusional, and whether or not he is a waste of time is up to you. But he nevertheless is a winner.
