Punch him in the balls.
If I was in Vegas now I would.. I mean u see the guy fi ak table twice this year won a Choctaw
Event he wins big last summer to blocks me everywhere I try contacting him different users but same...it's small money too but for me is alot now and he is semi known I guess the mixed game community..don't know what to do it's just frustrating seeing him in daniek Negreanu vlogs pokernews posting but him and he is scamming me...who does that for such small money..
Firstly, $5,000 events aren’t considered “high stakes” at the WSOP.
Secondly, did you get anything in writing when you let him borrow the money? If not, I hate saying it, but you might have to take this as a life lesson as there’s nothing you really can do.
Even if you have text messages, the guy can just say he paid you cash a week after the last message was sent. He’ll also likely say this is evidenced by you not contacting him for awhile until recently when you decided you wanted to shake him down for more.
In short, you’re screwed.
you're SOL
OP, from what I see, English is not your first language, which likely means you're from overseas. Does your debtor live near you and/or visit where you live? Or did you deal with him online only?
Like you said, if you were in Las Vegas, you could confront him in person and get this straightened out. Thus, I'm looking to see if there will be another opportunity to be in the same place. If this is someone you only know via an online connection (e.g. social media), then your options are obviously reduced.
In the end, Dr. Meh is right: if you don't have any receipts for such a loan, you really won't have any real recourse. The only way a text message is vaguely useful (and this is a long shot) is if you can get him to acknowledge that he still owes you.
One thing, however:
Firstly, $5,000 events aren’t considered “high stakes” at the WSOP.
This part might actually give you a better chance, depending on the amount owed. If he routinely buys into $5K events, then he must have the means to pay you. That's a very different scenario than if he owed you $5K but his only means of income was, say, scamming people for $300 chunks at the airport.
Yes I live I norway he is from Florida and plays all the the wsop .I guess all the mixed events up to 10k and yes it's not even that much...so all I got is the Facebook messages...where it states the last payment which is like 30 percent of what he owes me...time past and when I contacted him last summer regarding this all he wrote was I paid you and i got the screenshots and I don't have time for this I need focus wsop etc.either he believes he paid me and never truly checked the chat or I guess he is scamming me and doesn't want pay me either for small amount of money.i tried contacting through other people's facebook/Instagram etc and trying to explain to him just check our chat it's all there but he just blocks again.you maybe be right I am screwed.
Name and shame or stfu
Spill the name... this is a pointless thread at this point.
