WSOP Event Cancelled - Low Turnout

WSOP Event Cancelled - Low Turnout

Thoughts on what happened here? I know it says satellites didn’t finish in time for the event to start but that brings up another concern about how that could have logistically happened. Regardless, only four were willing to lay the buy-in? What a mess.

The $250k bracelet event at this year’s WSOP had -nine- players at the start, and ended up with 75 entrants.

Because a ton of the money in play is from backers and there need to be recreationals in the field for there to be EV. Once a few jump in, suddenly the field grows quickly. It’s not that the money isn’t out there, it’s watching and waiting.
In the case of this online $5300 I don’t think the money is there but would love to be wrong.

there's a $2650 event on ACR/WPN that had approx 2600 entrants today

I think the reason for the lack of action is because WSOP has such a small pool. If it was available nation wide im sure it would have ran. Even more so if WSOP didnt have so many regulations and ran their business like WPN or BetOnline/Chico or like bitcoin unregulated sites

Maybe, but the shitty software is more likely.

[B][ $2650 event on ACR/WPN that had approx 2600 entrants today /B] If this is true, someone please explain. That is beyond believable. 260 entrants not 2600? Even 260 entrants seems high for a $2650 there.

not 260...2640 to be exact but ACR runs a TON of satellites for this event maybe thats why.

Or maybe they are grouping Day 1 and Day 2 events. Not sure.

ACR markets the Venom heavy and puts on hundreds of satties for the month leading up to it. Plus it had 6 Day 1s I believe.

I’m surprised no one has said this — if you aren’t willing to set up a deposit online with 24 hour notice with cash to drop off at a Caesar’s cage then you aren’t getting enough money onto the site to play these large buy in events on wsop.com.

I moved to Nevada just last year, but have played enough to have won $13k in a $500, but am up only $3k overall. I’ve deposited north of $25k in the last year.

I still have a weekly deposit limit of $3,750 unless it’s at the cage.

So if I had wanted to play this $5,300 I would either just need to be keeping that large of a sum liquid in the account or have planned to drive a portion of my bankroll onto the strip, deal with parking etc etc just to get a buy in. And rebuying? Forget it.

I remember watching the Phil galfond vs jungle man on YouTube a while back — they played $10/$20 and cross-booked 10x IRL because it was too difficult for these multi-millionaire pros to get money onto wsop.com.
