The real story here is that the winner got banned. For what reason, GG hasnt disclosed. But the main theory is multi-accounting, the winner was a known player playing under a new account.

definately more respectable than ACRs $5 refunds

This confiscation came from Tournament.

the banned winner whos funds were confiscated was ali..."imSureOvich"

If you’re multiaccounting and on a fresh new account, and you’ve just made it to the final table of a huge tournament on one of your first entries, is the +EV play to donk out in 7th so you don’t attract too much attention or do you say F it and bust out bryn kenney who has a direct line to the site operators on your way to first?

kinda interested in how GG came to the conclusion that the winner was MA'ing. I assume you need really strong evidence to confiscate $1m

He was obviously doing this for quite some time. Probably his accounts were being monitored, once the big hit came he was doomed.

It would be interesting to know what method he was using. If he was registering with 5 accounts on the same MTT or if he was just using a different alias to avoid player notes.

considering how top heavy these things are seems kinda silly to enter at all if you're just gonna go out 7th if you make the FT. no way the entry is +ev in that case.

Gosh, I hope it was JJ, would be so perfect.

They can even tell its you by your personal mouse movements

How can you be sure it was MA?

For what we know it could be RTA as well, couldn't it?

this sounds like insane cap from whoever at GG is claiming this. i have a girlfriend with a work at home job at a huge tech company and they have mouse tracking software and she just uses a mouse jiggler to act like she's working when she isn't, they've never picked up that it's a mouse jiggler. sometimes when I play on GG I use a mouse, sometimes I use a laptop trackpad, if this even worked as a security measure you could just defeat it by using different input devices where there will be no pattern for comparison.

shocked you can’t identify a difference in stakes between whether your girlfriend is at her desk, and the security of an online poker platform.

sites have had software to detect patterns in mouse movements for years. it likely began to detect just bot movement, but now sites are able to profile idiosyncrasies thanks to advancement in big data.

Yeah this is total nonsense. Sites have been able to track your cursor movements for ages. If you constantly click outside of the tables fe before making a move they will pick up on that and if the site is winamax fe ask you to record a session for them.

GG stream these huge tournaments with the cards shown on a half hour delay. I would imagine some of the pros on the table saw their playstyle and figured out this wasn't a random noob.

gg software used to record your screen but something about that not being legal meant they had to stop

Do you have any source for this? It would be a massive breach of privacy so quite sick if they actually did this.

Who would actually punish them if it was true?

Don't know but it would still be a massive breach and atleast I would not never play there or any other site if something like that was happening.

That sounds like protection against people using RTA? Which is pretty different to being able to identify individual people from their mouse movements when using another account

It’s just not really a thing that someone unknown shows up to high stakes, especially the highest stakes and plays well (or even decent)

You're probably looking at a pool of like <= 5 players who it could have been.

-Someone banned from GG already
-Someone wanting to play a $25K NLH MTT there

Not exactly a long list 😉

Alì, Jake and then...? I'd think more at some European player for the link of this 'forzaitalia' with Italy and Slovenia

How cute you believe that.
