Pokerstars USA Rake Increase
Pokerstars USA recently increased the rake. This increase is unacceptable. Even ACR has lower rake while also providing
The average increase in rake collected per pot seems to be about a 12% increase at 50NL and 15% increase at 30NL ... guessing this just translates into a simple equation of your old bb/100 rake paid times 1.12 or 1.15 ...
This is not taking into account that you don't VPIP every hand or win every hand. Technically you're only paying rake when you win the hand, and you can't pay rake if you don't VPIP (other than contributions for blinds). I'm uncertain right off hand how that could be taken into account. Still importing the rest of my hands to see if the calculation changes at all.
I've posted my query to see if anyone can spot any errors in how I'm calculating this. One thing to note the avg_pot_size includes unraked hands that ended preflop.
Updated a few small errors I found in the query, results didn't change significantly. Added in 100NL - I think even with my limited sample it's probably pretty accurate. For me, this amounts to around 1.28bb/100 at 30NL, and .73bb/100 at 50NL ...
I take it your good with SQL
They raised the rake while Global started giving rakeback to SNG players (was only going to cash game players before)...
Pokerstars might be losing money in the US.
not a chance they have a casino. they are definitely losing money at poker tho in canada too. but company's know to take losses for market shares in Canada their decision was weird because they were bleeding market shares. In the us if they already won the monopoly I can see it
Has any room actually decreased rake once it's been increased?
has stars never lowered rake in its 20 year history?
Have we all forgotten that famous quote: "more rake is better"?
rake rake rak.
