Hello and welcome to the arena!

Previous High Stakes thread: *** December 2024 High Stakes Thread ***

: : :

We generally post ~200bb+ pots, but if there's an interesting hand/showdown, or if there's not much action feel free to post smaller ones.

Posting hands

How to post CoinPoker hands:

Click on hand #number in replayer.

Copy text and remove ante part of first row in hh:
Poker Hand #72306164: Omaha Pot Limit (200/400 ante 80) 2023/04/12 15:51:58 GMT
Add - after parenthesis. Line should read:
Poker Hand #72306164: Omaha Pot Limit (200/400) - 2023/04/12 15:51:58 GMT
This works until someone has a 7 figure stack, then you need to edit any number over one mega.

paste hh https://pokeit.co/convert/

The converted hand will say it's from GG, you may edit this too.

For the OCD inclined, search and replace § with $.

Post your nice hand here!

:

Please use the following options for converting hands:

Converter from Pokeit https://pokeit.co/convert/ with wide variety of supported games, multiple hand conversion, etc.

Another converter: http://www.railhand.com

Just paste your hand history, convert, copy generated code and paste in this thread.

If you want to post 2-7 TD hands: http://www.feralcowpoker.com.

Set it to "Two Plus Two - textonly" output, and show results and player names.

I believe ashianflushie is Bjorn Li

by ggbruuce k

A bit ironic to spend so much time making a video about this while not bothering to write / find out real name of Beppe, flushie and llama.

a bit ironic to make this post without writing/finding out the names of beppe, flushie, and llama yourself

wtf is this re tarded question? bro spent his time running the numbers, give him some real feedback or dont comment at all

I'm gonna disagree with some of his conclusion that at 200k hands if they had that same winrate pr0digy would be by far the best player

it would still be unclear and it could very well still be variance

never underestimate variance, and I mean it's even made clear from the orange lines

the only conclusion we can get to is they're all pretty good at poker

Phil Hellmuth was actually determined to be the best player on High Stakes Duel

I have no idea who is the best cash reg but i have played highstakes mtts and sngs since 2014. Saying someone is the best in the world on this sample is a bit re.ta.rded especially when we are talking about deeper stacks of 80bb+. Apparently people who believe these things fall into one of three categories

1) They dont play for a living
2) They havent seen enough graphs of people winning 5bb/100+ to understand variance
3) They havent run anything in variance simulators

I have been playing mostly 20-30bb poker where standard deviation in bb/100 is the lowest and i had stretches of 15k hands where i was breakeven and 5k hand stretches where my ev was negative, my actual ev over the years is 7bb/100+. If i remember correct Linus went from 200k+ to -150k and then up to 250k. There are times these guys were playing 150bb-200bb poker. You cant say who is the best in 100k hands samples especially when we are talking about deepstack poker

Also the better players are creating better counter strategies, the longer a game goes the bigger edge they will have. Maybe Owen is indeed the best cash reg atm maybe not. I think the challenge would be more ''fair'' if you forced the regs to play x amount of tables x amount of hours for x days. Lets say everyone who wants to participate they have to grind from 9 to 5 playing 4 tables and they will get a random seat in the beginning and/or they will get a random new seat every 4 hours until they reach 150k-200k hands. Anyone who fails to join for 1-2 days for every 20 days of grinding will get disqualified. I am not the smartest person and i am sure someone will find a better way if they really wanted to make a challenge to find out who is actually the best. Props to every regular who chose to battle these games and congrats to Owen

Also the comment about hu is completely off. Yes in some cases player A can be better than player B but loses to player C but the best player always holding the lobbies in hu. What he describes can be true when you go down in the ranks where the difference between no9 no10 no11 can be small. I assume this person doesnt or has never played highstakes reg battles
