how do we know about the debts to trueteller?

there was also some chatter here about antonius stalling a 100k debt sometime ago lol

Trueteller updated on 2+2 first in 2020 and it was still on going at that point. Of course he said that he didnt think Ivey was freerolling and it was just unfortunate events.
But its a long time and u would think that the best find ways to make things right.

Now in 2024 Trueteller was commenting Triton finals with russians on stream and someone in chat asked about it. He answered that he does not want to talk about it but ivey is making payments.
This was translated from russian stream to english text so cant be 100% sure but that is what it read on the Q&A post, u can google it.

So at least he is slowly paying it off which its nice but such a long time after losing crossbook is almost like Dwans situation which does not look cool.

TT talked about it in his well on a Russian poker forum a few years ago, he studied for close to a year specifically to beat Ivey in 8-game to prove that he was the best all-around player on a planet at that time

they were cross booking poker stars 10-15x or something in that order and Ivey lost big

think he later said that he regretted it coming out since Ivey was making payments and they were still very friendly and playing in the same live games

Well Ivey is the coolest but takes a little bit away from his status that he ends in debt for a decade after losing to Trueteller in a crossbook match and is still making payments which should have been paid instantly after the match for sure, I bet they did not agree that loser can pay through the years, expectation probably was that the loser would be paying instantly or shortly.

Yeah the baccarat thing and some other unlucky events might have happened, but its little bit sad to see that the be

If you think Ivey has been broke for a decade, then I don't really know what to tell you other than you being extremely naive. There is a massive difference between paying off a gambling debt slowly and being broke. Sure, he has had some money issues here and there but he is far, far from being anywhere close to broke. Broke ppl don't play 10K/50K/100K per hole golf matches for fun lol. He is estimated to have a net worth of around $100 mil right now.

I'll bet anything his net worth is less than $100m

Ivey Ivey Ivey! Time to get going and get chips and unleash the Ivey effect! 😀

Dude if he was loaded why would he be paying a headsup loss for 10 years and still making payments LOL.
I bet that the players did not go into that match with a expectation that the loser can pay slowly for 10 years, most likely it was supposed to be settled after the match, and Ivey failed to deliver. Unlucky with the lawsuits and whatever has happened, but he clearly is not balling like he did in 2009.

I like Ivey he was the GOAT during his peak, but the best players in the game should not be in debt like that and should have a lot of money. Playing at stakes you cant afford to pay after a loss is not a good look for anyone.

Hope Ivey ships the main and pays everything off to start building a bankroll of his own.

It is well known that he lost a lot of table games. No reason to believe he lost a lot at poker.

i dont post much

but lets see MTTg banned every post this person makes is just stupid/troll.2005 stuff

Lol what. U got mad for commenting facts everyone can go see truetellers Triton commentary translated to english on the russian poker news site.

Its not a troll to share stories found online on reliable sources even tho you dont like the reality does not mean that its a troll or a lie.

I doubt he is an old poster who got banned. He made a post about "famous people" that involved exclusively zoomer nobodies that no one above 25 (and thats being generous) have heard about.

How long ago was the golf matches where he was playing 10k/50k/100k per hole. I feel like that was old lore.

I could see Phil Ivey being broke (I doubt it) but that's more plausible than him having a net worth of $100mil now.

Phil calls all in with K4 from the BB after the button and SB both shove? Weird but i guess he really wanted the bounty.

Has to be a deal made.. no way he makes that call otherwise. Just no way. The biggest bounties werent even in play anymore.
