The Grinder's wife, Lily Elviro, is dealing at Hialeah Park (Miami)

I played 2/5 NL at the new Hialeah Park poker room for the first time on Fri 08/23. (BTW, GREAT new room, nicest in S. FL) When I sat down there was a blond dealer more than halfway through her shift and right away I thought that I recognized her. It was bugging me where I might know her from but I figured I must have seen her dealing at the 4 other S. FL rooms I have played in for many years, (since I did see 5 or 6 other dealers from rooms where I had played before.) When I got home, it was still bugging me why I thought I knew her, but not from dealing, then it hit me...that was Lily, the Grinder's wife! (who I have seen on TV many times & met in person at a tourney in the Calder room where the Grinder was "hosting".) The blond hair threw me, but a quick Google to see her face again confirmed it. I played there again yesterday 08/30 and did not see her, so asked one of the floor supervisors (who I also know from another room) and she told me yes, that Lily was dealing there.

OK, so the Grinder's money woes have been well documented in poker magazines & even a Miami Herald newspaper article a while back, but thought they were behind him. I used to play at the Seminole HR in Hollywood FL when he was still a dealer there. I have always admired him for his accomplishments and for always trying to do what's right for his family. Maybe now that the kids are older, Lily just wants to keep busy, who knows, it's not for us to judge. I wish them both the best of luck!
