A completely standard word that describes a feeling there's really no other accurate word for. Why would that word stand out?
Hahaha I can't tell if you're serious. Schadenfreude is not only a pretty frequently used word in our modern-day discourse*, especially since the advent of social media. Perhaps it represents a backlash to people continually posting content about how great their lives are, curated and artificial as that may actually be. Hell, look at the joy people took during the Fyre Festival fiasco – based on what we knew at the time, we saw pure schadenfreude at work.
The same applies to Daniel more than other of his contemporaries for one simple reason: he puts himself out there in ways almost no one else does. It sort of follows that for every Negreanu stan out there, we can find a person who simply wants to see him fail.

The appeal is there is a lot more gambling. For a rec who just wants to gamble he gets a lot more action and has a very better chance to win than he does when he plays hold em where he's just gonna play the best hand and get wrecked all night.

Apparently, the only two times you've ever seen the word was from me (well once from me, and the other probably by me). So yes, the implication is that's a word that exists nowhere else but in my imagination.
I don't know what your definition of "standard" is, but in this case, it's a word that a) 95 percent of English speakers do or should know, and b) it's a word used all of the time – especially in our current era. That sounds pretty standard.

He should really cut out the PLO high rollers and focus more on non NLHE non PLO tournaments. The PPC win shows how strong he is at mixed games.
If he reads this thread (which i think he does cuz there parts of his vlog that address certain comments) he's going to start regging more PLO high rollers to prove those people that say he sucks at plo wrong.

i really think he's just trying to buy a bracelet in plo. he can get into a lot of 50/50 40/60 situations and hopefully win a few in a row at high blind levels.

i think he used them preflop.
his flop play was obviously fine. he was getting almost 10-1. that's not where the decision was made.
preflop was where the decision was made. he 3 bet ak83 double (ace and king high suit) against a button open and called a 4 bet for 210ish of his 260ish stack.
