DNegs emotional immaturity is very funny for a professional poker player. He must have ran insanely hot for the majority of his career to see these super standard runs of hands that take you from 40bb > busto in a few orbits as something super unlucky and rant worthy.

His rants are also definitely one of the reasons why hes such a big personal name in poker though. If I see the face of some boring solver reg, even though I know they are super good, like Fedor Holz, in something poker media related, I turn off instantly. I watch DNegs vlogs even though I think one of the biggest sunrunners of all time. Hes entertaining and his vlogs are great for poker. More than great.

Showing emotion is what makes him someone that GG will invest in to produce VLOGS to be fair ,

Your missing the point if your concern is if the specific odds of one hand being 100% accurate. Coin flip, 60/40, 70/30, etc. all still come with a good chance of losing the hand. A professional poker player knows this and should not be tilted when they occasionally lose hands like this. Still doesn't take away from, and possibility adds to as some posters have opined about, his marketability and overall life success from poker.

Did the player even say he folded KQ? For most people who put in some volume, this happens so often that bothering about irrelevant details like "Did anyone fold his outs so I was actually 56/44 favorite instead of 53/47 ??" is a waste of energy.

I remember before the poker boom really took off there was some training site you paid per month and one of the features is they had forums with a pro for each forum. The pro generally commented on all the hands in his thread and other people could comment also. Those pros probably didn't get paid a lot. Negreanu was the pro for the tournament forum. He replied to several hands I posted and I posted in some other people's hand threads where he posted.

About 2007, he started a training site called VTPoker. Their videos were more slickly produced and better edited than the Camtasia stuff other sites churned out. I thought his material was very good at the time. The other main contributor was Jason Somerville, who I believe is openly gay. That site no longer exists and I don't think you can find their videos. The material is dated now.

I looked at some of his videos from his wins or deep runs. I don't find it interesting, but most of the comments are very favorable. He has personality and explains things in understandable ways. Viewers don't want some nerdy GTO type going on and on about blockers, etc. What GG wants is to attract amateurs, and those are mostly who likes his videos.

I think he would be better off focusing more on mixed games and non NLHE non PLO tournaments. Also, mostly sticking to buyins $25K or under.

He may not be up in the last 2 years or whatever. However, there is huge variance with these high buyin tournaments, so you can't say for sure, he is -EV in them. Plus he wins $300Ks and so on. A lot of winning professional players would get crushed playing $100Ks plus. So he has to be a fairly strong player to be close to even in them. It is likely he is not a really top NLHE tournament player now, but it is ridiculous to claim he is a fish.

It's pretty obvious how far above ev he's run for his poker career that he's always shocked when he loses flips.

Even if Mateos has literally never played PLO before, it would take him at most a few dozen tournaments and he would be a better PLO player than DNegs ever was.
