Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn't eat it....
o well atleast the girl grinded him on the rails of a club, almost got kicked out for grinding? Kappa
If he was a top 3 stack, ripping it in with AK vs one of the guys who covers you is probably not ICM approved. But I don’t exactly know starting stack sizes and positions, or even pf action.
I'm pretty sure Negreanu is literally too rich to care about ICM in a 25k, let alone a $500
In his own vlog
LOL
You pretty much have to 4! shove AK in a tournament. What do you flat call the 3! and play small ball? You will get run over if you don't ever shove to 3!s.
It was a cold 4! shove from the BB for about 50xBB. The 3! was from the BTN. It doesn't say the original raiser's position. The 3! was probably for about 8xBB.
Think it is pretty standard. You could cold call OOP. Don't think you can fold AK there. I don't like making it less than allin with that hand and position.
BTN should probably have folded TT, but low stakes players don't like to fold big hands.

True, but given that it’s been 16 years since he last won a bracelet in Vegas, and has never won a NLH bracelet in Vegas, what he has been doing isn’t working. I’m sure he’d love to get the monkey off his back.
Gets some points towards POY at least

When is the last time you saw DNegs make a huge bluff pre? Ive watched his vlogs for years and I literally cant come up with a single example. Probably once each series he says something along the lines of "I havent been behind a single time when Ive been all in" and takes pride in it.
He is better off playing lower stakes, which he can crush than HU against a few GTO types.
I agree with this. The important skill in these tournaments is winning the max from weak players, and this is a different skill from winning against very good players. This is also true in cash games.

If you are 4-betting allin, it is never a pure bluff. If it is allin, you have to showdown the cards if called.
Pretty bad ass backyard! No matter what the haters say he's living his best life
pretty sure they just wanted to show off Amanda's newest Brazilian Butt Lift in this latest vlog lol
In that sort of bust out hand, the effective stacks were about 50xBB and the 3! was probably to about 7xBB with maybe 12xBB in the pot. You aren't going to shove A4s unless you think it will go through close to 2/3 or the time. So hard for him to have a bluff. You could make a small 4! to like 14xBB with a bluff you are folding or like AA/KK, but you are OOP.
He always expects Players to know that his 4b are 'real' and that TT is not a good call based on the action, especially with at least a 3rd Player involved. As shown quite often, he folded AK PF to JoeMcK 5b in the ME (who had AA).
The issue with him is that he will show up with seemingly speculative hands in a lot of different spots and that lends itself to people forgetting about how the range should change drastically from 4b to closing action PF in position. They call anyway ..
TT isn't even a snap call in these streamed cash games anymore. QQ got folded quite a few times at Hustler this past week, although they are much deeper than 50bb.
Tournament Players are 'comfortable' playing with 10-15bb, so to be putting out a 4b is not a leveling war (making' a move). He stated that in a $500 you're not necessarily going to get 'those Players' to fold TT PF since they are so used to shipping it in most of their previous tournaments.
Let's see how Day 2 goes today .. GL
Yesterday's blog is titled "My Best Game - PLO". Its been a year since his last vlogs so I was ready to give him some slack, maybe he has played some more PLO and actually plays it better now.
Then the very first hand history he plays JJTT terribly and his analysis is straight up bad. Is no one in his circle giving him any pointers in this game? Its quite baffling how someone who is at his level in the poker ecosystem doesnt have people to discuss hands with that would lead him to improve. Either he is so far up his own *** that he finds it below him to discuss hands in his self claimed "best game", or the people he discusses hands with are actively avoiding telling him about the flaws in his game.
Very few people tell the king he has no clothes especially when it has no upside. You are never getting the credit or money if you improve his game but you will get all the blame when he loses.

Yeah, I looked at that video and you are right. You think he could afford PLO coaching. I don't how he thinks it is his best game. He is a good NLHE tournament player, and decent at limit game tournaments, as he knows how to play tournaments and limit from way back.
