Hello, this is a PSA to whom it may concern that Ethan Lewis Flewin and his friends John, Evan and Tony are thieves and robbed me of 2x 1ozt gold bars and $1.1k CAD for a total value of ~8.1k CAD as of the time of this writing.

Before wsopc January

I met John, Ethan and Evan in a discord forum and we met up on two separate occasions in late 2024 in Victoria and Langley, BC. We got along well and ended up later making plans to meet up in Calgary for the January WSOPC. John sent money (~2k) to a mutual friend who I owed money to, in order to pay for their share of the Airbnb. I spent the money as directed and the Airbnb with 4 rooms was reserved for the 4 of us.

By this point their plan had changed from playing poker to playing AP blackjack, which I know nothing about but sounds fascinating to me. The series begins uneventfully, I brick a few events and have to reload a couple times beyond the money I had brought (around 3k give or take a few hundred). This is on top of the gold that I had been carrying around as a backup in case there was a problem with going to the bank. It was purchased in 2021 and I have a record of that purchase.

On the Sunday in question

On Sunday, January 12th, I was at the Airbnb all day since there were no events for me to play and I didn't feel like playing cash games. Ethan, Evan and John were out all day that day, Ethan was playing day 2 of the 4flight (this is how I know his full name) and Evan and John were playing blackjack somewhere. Ethan came back that night and informed us that he had blown 6k at baccarat, and I learned that he is a full blown gambling addict.

That day, I sat on the couch most of the day and watched tv. At no point did I know about any money that was left in the house besides the few hundreds in chips and cash they had been leaving out most days. At no point did I touch any of their things or go into any of their rooms.

After Sunday

John and Evan went to Saskatchewan on Monday or Tuesday for the night (I don't remember which day but I do remember they were back by the next night).

On Monday, Ethan brought someone I had never been introduced to, named Tony, to the airbnb to stay with us. I was not consulted, simply informed My buddy Tony is going to stay with us". I thought, well okay, and I had seen Tony at the August 2023 wsopc, so he wasn't a complete and total stranger. Just hadn't met him before.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday I play tournaments all day starting around noon, sometimes coming home early if busting out.

The Interrogation and Robbery

On Wednesday night, after playing the monster stack day 1b for 13 hours, I get home and they are all sitting on the couches in the living room. This is not usual but I think nothing of it, and tuck into my burger. They are waiting on a chinese food delivery, and offer me some, but I am full and say that I'll have some for breakfast instead. I go back to my room and lay down to get rested for day 2 of the monster stack the next day.

While laying in bed, I hear a knock at my door and say "ya" and all four of them enter my room. John says we need to talk and begins to accuse me of stealing money that was in the house when I was the only one there. The dollar amount they gave changed during the interrogation, they first said it was 6k, then they said it was 4k, and now I hear they have told someone it was 8k. This is very suspicious to me, especially now.

I vehemently deny it, they demand proof of having gone to the bank like I said I had that week to reload cash since I had bricked the week before. I showed them my banking records showing the withdrawal, and there was another one from the week prior.

They asked me how much I had bought in for, and without that number off the top of my head, I said I don't know but Ill check my tracker and also you can verify my buyins with a mutual friend who had bought ten percent of my action - I report every buyin to him even more accurately than in my own tracker app.

They would not accept this and while they were accusing me and I was explaining myself, Evan was rifling through my day pack and took out my CAD and gold from the pack. When I was finished explaining myself, Evan was holding the gold and I said "give that back to me now"... he did not, but rather gave it to Ethan who stuffed it in his hoodie pocket. I demanded he give it back, he said no and John said that I have to prove that I didn't take their money first. I said that I gave them everything they asked for and this should explain everything, but John insisted that it wasn't adding up. I said that yes, it does add up, and if you're not going to give back my property then you have to leave. I regret not calling the police right away on the spot before they left.

Afterwards

They left and John (who I know more closely than the others, despite not currently having his full name) has not been replying to me despite receiving screenshots of my tracker app, banking records and me asking what else he would want to prove my innocence... So I am starting to think the four of them conned and robbed me together. At first, I had thought one of them stole from the group, but since John does not appear to be working with me in good faith, I am not so sure. Further, he has been flimsily responding and accusing me of their theft in the mutual discords I first outed them on.
