How are Bomb Pot tournaments being dealt at the WSOP this year in 2025?
I see the WSOP has a new Bomb Pot event where every 8th hand is a Bomb Pot hand. I am trying to find out how they are going to deal this...
Is it A (6 burns):
Deal cards to players
Burn, deal Top board Flop
Burn, deal Bottom board Flop
Bet
Burn, deal Top board Turn
Burn, deal Bottom board Turn
Bet
Burn, deal Top board River
Burn, deal Bottom board River
or is it B (3 burns):
Deal cards to players
Burn, deal Top board Flop, deal Bottom board Flop
Bet
Burn, deal Top board Turn, deal Bottom board Turn
Bet
Burn, deal Top board River, deal Bottom board River
Which do you prefer? I prefer 6 card burns.

Who cares. The point of burns is game protection. If you're putting 2 boards after just one burn there is no game protection issue.
It's random either way.
What a strange question…why would anyone care about this?
Why do you prefer 6 burns? No advantage I see and just more chances for dealer to expose something erroroneously.
I would completely expect 3 burns. That is how I have always seen it in cash games.
The more important question here:
Where does it say it’s only 1 dbbp per orbit???
Was hoping for a pure dbbp tourney …

I played the first version last year. Last year it was 8 hands of NL Holdem then you played a db NL bomb pot. Then you played 8 hands of PLO then a double board PLO bomb pot. Then rinse and repeat for the entire tourney.
This year it will be straight PLO. 8 hands of PLO then DB PLO bomb pot. And then repeat for the entire tourney.

YEAH BUT HOW MANY BURN CARDS?!?!?
I'd be more concerned that a certain seat was getting the button for every dbbp. Given the table plays 8 handed.
easy way to go about it is to just deal for it just like when the dealer starts a new cash game - and of course it wont affect the placement of the button in the next non bomb pot hand
Randomized would be bad. The way they do it with a separate BP btn ensures that everyone gets btn in progression. If we dealt for every BP btn, why not just deal for every button. Will be randomized.
Whatever is faster
They already have a bunch of pure PLO events. Why not make this one all bomb pots? Bust the chumps quicker. Once every eight hands? Boring.
I heard (could be just a rumour) that they let the players choose how many cards to burn, if there's a tie in votes between burning 3 and burning 6 cards they take a lighter out and just burn the current deck of cards and use a fresh deck

Exactly… there’s already a ton of plo tourneys… why not be brave and do a full dbbp only one?
Ps: but now I have to get back into the lab and figure out a burn card solution (back in a month, complicated issue ;-))
I don't think this burn card issue can ever possibly be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.
They might as well just cancel the DBBP tournament at this point.

i was afraid to say the same thing, but now that you mentioned it, there needs to be some serious discussion ... i mean:
a) PH not playing the main
b) burn cards in DBBP totally ****ed up
i'm gonna start a petition to cancel the whole WSOP this year.
6 burns is absurd. Burn flop flop, burn turn turn, burn river river.
