WSOP should move back to Rio

It just makes more sense to have it there. Parking is atrocious on the strip and accessibility to the Rio was much more convenient. Everything was all in one place instead of spread around two different venues requiring you to walk through smoke-filled casinos.

Honestly, what was so bad about Rio? The chairs weren’t great, so just replace the chairs!

Seriously, why not move it back? I can’t think of a single reason from a player perspective.

Well for starters Caesars doesn't own the Rio anymore and while GG now owns wsop they have a 20 year (maybe 25?) year agreement with Caesars.

As one cow said to the other: isn't it funny how the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence?

But I'll suggest that I don't think the average person who visits Las Vegas really wants to stay on West Flamingo. Although I once stayed at the Gold Coast, and played a lot of $5 craps, and had a great time, which I wouldn't have if the Rio wasn't next door, I'm not exactly the guy you want punting in your $1K re-buy. You wouldn't kick me off the table either, but, really, you want the complete tourists, and enough of them to offset the rake if you want the whole thing to be +EV.

As such, now that it's at Paris, I feel like the fields are softer now, but that's only from watching Boski β€” I haven't been to Vegas since Encore Boston Harbor opened six years ago. (I played cash for two weeks during the 2017 WSOP but I definitely didn't head to the Rio for that, as the strip games were perfectly cromulent.) I'd be interested to hear what people who play in these games think.

Details, details. Perhaps a better title would be that WSOP should have never left Rio.

I just want people to explain what was so bad about it. I can’t think of anything.

Rio blows

Splain how

isn't the Rio half empty now? Didn't know it was still open lol.

Just go play in Orleans if you don't like WSOP at Horseshoe

The Rio was a complete shit hole the last few years. The had closed so many nice things. They use to have the live show, the seafood buffet, the nice regular buffet. It's also very out of the way. Very few good food options in the casino.

On the strip makes sense. A lot of properties to pick from that are very close. A lot of place to walk to, the place has capacity. My only complaint is that I wish there were better food options at Paris/Horseshoe, but they are still better than the Rio.

Were you born stupid, or did you major in Stupidity in college?

CAESARS. SOLD. THE. RIO.

Brushing this off as a "detail, " is, well, stupid.

You’re kind and a lot of fun. I can see why so many people enjoy your company.

I'm not a fan of the Rio.

I think the current location is pretty great. They just need to eliminate the Provence room, which is an absolute hell hole. The tightly packed 10-handed tables are unbearable.

Otherwise the big conference rooms at the Horseshoe and Paris are fine. It's fun to have a 75 minute dinner break and step out onto the strip and almost forget you're at the WSOP for a minute and just have a fun LV strip experience.

I love the current location. Don’t want it moved.

I agree 100%... the RIO was MUCH MUCH better because of the room available to spread the games out.
I also agree that having the WSOP on the strip itself is a good idea, but the current situation is just ungodly bad.
