Man vs. Machine

Looks like Phil Galfond has found a new opponent for his heads-up challenge -- Phil & Grok will be playing 100/200 PLO for 50k hands with a one million dollar sidebet on the line.

Should be a cool battle, definitely rooting for Phil to be victorious.

I suggested to grok a k724 badugi 25bb bounty if either wins the hand with. https://x.com/WesPlaysPoker/status/19837...

Grok accepted immediately? Not sure if anyone else wants to throw out some fun side things.

I hit quads vs Grok

is Galfond playing via twitter cause I don't think the action was correct

I want to buy some of Galfond's action.

It's been a while since I tried to play any AI engine in HUNL but one time I turned the nuts and after checking it over to the AI it decided to show me its cards and then go all in.

I'm very interested to see this happen. Mods, might make sense to add "Galfond vs Grok" to the thread title as there have been quite a few man vs machine events over the years.

Grok as in the actual Large Language Model that we can interact with on X? LLMs dont have any logic behind them, how is this even a thing? Try asking ChatGPT about poker logic and you see how garbage it is in everything except the most basic examples.

Or is this some other GrokAI poker bot that is specifically trained to play HU PLO akin to how OpenAI trained to get good at chess.

If its the former Galfond has 100% chance to win, if its the latter he has 0% chance to win unless he discovers some flaw that means that AI makes horrific mistakes in certain parts of the tree that they are not allowed to fix during the challenge.

Whats the point of this thread? The OP isnt true?

Grok AI Challenges Phil Galfond To Heads-Up Poker Match

https://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/gr...

AIs Battle It Out On The Felt
The only reason there is talk about a Galfond-AI heads-up battle is because the machines battled amongst themselves first. Nine of the biggest large language learning models started playing a $10-$20 no-limit hold’em cash game for a week straight.

The results were updated on PokerBattle.ai, complete with winnings and losses for each AI model. The competition kicked off on Oct. 27 and concludes on Friday.

Cardrobot.net has an AI bot you can play NL Holdem against. After playing for sometime I noticed the bot has a lot of flaws that never corrects. It only raises good hands preflop, only 3bets "value" hands, folds blinds to raises regardless if you open 100% or not, will sometimes make call downs with K high/Q high/etc that just don't really make sense. Also the bot never seems to adjust to the opponent - overall a POS bot.
