Wrong thread; that's not a moderation question.

If the thread was started on the new version it will always redirect you to the new.

Too many posts off topic, with Reports asking for deletions or moves, to be deleted or moved. In fact the "topic" as been hijacked and effectively changed.

Anyone searching for "Elky" will find the thread, but you can start a new thread about him if you think there's a valuable and ongoing discussion about him to be had.

What I found funny was one of the posters who hijacked it was whining about how players were not held accountable for their actions. He/she effectively went on to hinder players ability to hold Elky accountable and there is a bloody thread specifically about Negreanu for them to talk about him. I wonder if that was Elky playing a masterstroke.

feels wrong to do that because it definitely will kill the seo of it

right now that thread is at the top of the list when you search his name - i suspect it will cease to be once the google crawler reacts to the thread title change - titles are by far the most relevant things for this - far outstripping the content of the post - especially since the real meat and potatoes are screenshots of tweets - which google crawler won't be fixating upon

i don't think the intention of the title change is to protect him - but that is the effective result is that it'll sweep this under the rug

I could probably move as many o/t posts as possible to a new thread, and then change the original thread title back. Would that work better?

I tried to do that, but I thought some posts were too much a mixture of topics. I guess that wouldn't matter too much if I added links in both threads' OPs to the other, if that's the best solution.

What do you think?

please do this! protecting players from scammers and slow-payers should be a top priority. the derail about "more rake is better" would fit quite well into the DN containment thread.

Thank you.

Done. Moved 28 posts to DN's thread.

Please let me know if any shouldn't have been moved, or if any more should be moved.

I'll get my coat.

There's spam all over the forum but this is what you decide to moderate And i do report it but still often up for another 24 hours +. Just checked and there's spam up from 4 days ago

So weird that your reports of all this spam aren't showing up in our post report section. I only checked back a month, so maybe you reported all this spam you're seeing more than a month ago?

When did you report spam? The only post notification I see from this this year that involves you is someone reporting you for politarding in NVG.

Besides that, let's recap:
- Someone starts a thread about Elky owing money
- People start derailing the thread
- Other people (or more likely the same people) complain about the derail
- Mike Haven goes out of his way to clean up the thread to keep people happy
- You complain about Mike Haven for whatever reason

Did I miss something?

Why is “cheated poker hamptons” locked? A lot of references to an Ammar in that thread,

?

A direct link to a thread in question would be appreciated.

Good point sorry

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/ne...

It was closed by Mike Haven. I'll let him make the call on reopening it or if there is a new thread on the subject already open.

It's now unlocked.

Please note that there may be a number of posts in the thread by the same person/s using different accounts. It should go without saying that at least some of the content is not necessarily factual.

The forums need more active mods.

Do we really need to individually report all those spam threads?

Maybe so, they have been sitting there for 5 hours.

by Mike Haven m

marknfw was talking about four spam posts, by different(?) spammers, that were deleted; as are many others almost every day. There's an "invisible" thread in NVG to which deleted spam threads are often moved because mods can see deletion markers and sometimes they interrupt the visual flow of the forum. There are about 400 of them in there so far this year. Max has written a pro

Most of the obvious spam threads are deleted automatically within a few minutes. Very few are seen by more than a couple of forum users.

Only any that remain for more than, say, an hour need to be reported, as, for some reason, they have been missed by the automated sweep of all new posts.

Thanks to whoever cleaned up that front page.

Now, 1768 and counting.
