Punting The WSOP Main event early
Level one 50 -100 no antes - everyone around 10K
Hero (UTG): K♣ K♠
Villain1 (UTG +1)
Villain2 (UTG +2)
Villain3 and 4 (hijack, cutoff)
Hero raises to 400, get 4 callers (1750 in pot)
Flop: Q♥9♦5♥
Hero bets 1000, Villain1 and 2 call, (4750 in pot).
Not sure i like my bet. im thinking much smaller or check. Im making a huge pot early.
Turn: 4♦
Hero continues for 2000, Villain1 and 2 call (10750 in pot).
Now ive done it. I have just TPTK and 2 callers. I didnt put them on a range. I was assuming they are chasing flushes or a hand like AQ. but there are two of them. I made up my mind to bet big if there is a non heart river.
River: 8♦
Hero bets 5000
Villain1 goes into the tank for 20 seconds and folds
Villain 2 goes into the tank (at least a minute) and calls with A♦K♦
im left with crumbs. The table is shocked he just called with the nut flush. He responds "I thought you might have the straight flush. WTF?!
Lesson learned: Dont overplay Kings in the main. :p
Later in touney Villain1 raises pre and everyone folds. One guy says "If he calls with the nut flush, what does he raise with?"

What year was this? My guess is late 00s. Definitely not the Main Event in the past decade.
JT, 76, KdJd, and Qxdd all got there on this river. Multiway out of position its probably just a c/f on the river, hoping it checks thru.
you definitely should have bet smaller on the flop and turn, but we didn't know that back then.
I would go something like 600 into 1800 flop. 1200 into 3600 turn. And now we have a 7200 pot with 7800 behind and dont feel pot committed on the river. If it was heads up on the river you could even try to squeeze a little value out with another small bet.
Isn't the current starting stack a lot bigger.
Yes. it was 2006
Well at least it’s a recent HH…
