What did Villain have? Strange hand.
We are at the final table, 5 handed
I have about 22 BB on the button (largest stack at the table, everyone was pretty short stacked).
Folds to me on button, I pick up 6s6c. I raise to 2.5bb. Sb folds and BB decides to tank call (20bb)
BB is a regular pro at this tourney, plays very exploitative and will almost always defend his BB I expect to him defend any suited or str8 connecting cards to my raise.
Flop comes 4s5c7d
BB does something I don’t expect, he leads out to me for about 3bb (1/2 pot).
I give a little speech about how he knows that board is better for his range and I ultimately decided to raise ( I wasn’t sure what BB had, I thought possible hands are any pair on the board, from 7x, 4x, 5x ), I raised because I wanted to set up a situation to bluff off 7x hands, I don’t expect him to lead into me here with anything better than 7x that often.
I raised it to 8bb, and villain calls.
Turn is 10c
Villain leads out again, for same bet 3bb. I’m very confused at this point. I ultimately stuck with my original read, that Villain had 1 pair being 7x, 4x or 5x, and is trying to see how strong I am, kind of a weird blocker bet to gauge his one pair.
I moved all in, for about 12bb total.
We are the two largest stacks at the table 5 handed ITM.
Villain says he thinks I have a set, says he has KK, doesn’t show and folds.
I think he’s lying and was on some kind of weird bluff… but I have a hard time putting him on a hand.
Thoughts on what he had?

Pocket pair under a 10.. No one is folding kk as played.
Don’t like the flop raise. In these spots often someone’s watched some free YouTube videos and is donking 8x A3 etc or overs. Plenty of regs do this mindlessly too, feel like calling down is optimal, imho the T is a pretty bad card for us.
He’s a fairly bad liar as well because he did not have KK, id lay 100:1.
I find the turn donk the weirdest of his plays.. not really sure what he was expecting to happen after you raised his flop donk.. that you would just call turn donk?
waste of his chips imo especially at that stage.
kk are unlikely to me..
I would have jammed your flop raise with kk and hope you got 99/tt/jj etc and give myself a serious chance at going for 1st.. (you got way more of that type of hand than a set)
>im assuming hes either got overcards or straight draws.
>hes donked the flop hoping you fold..or if you just call he can barrell a brick turn.. you gotta lot of overcards in your range
>your flop raise puts an end to his turn barrel dreams, so he just calls with his outs & 'donk discount' looking to hit his miracle, misses & tries a weird block bet & gives up to jam.
>then decides to start bullshitting about kings for some reason
7x is possible too.. although a really weird line.. donk and then donk the exact same again? ..surely expecting another raise?
what was his plan for the river if you called his turn donk? ...another 3bb river donk?
