6max or 9max
Changing format and really like both 6max and 9max sngs... My roi in both is ~5% so it's not clear which im better at.
i'd say i honestly like them both the same, but have tried playing both at the same time, pretty much ruling that out as i find it gets confusing. Also probably more efficient to specialise in 1.
So what are all the arguments for playing 6max or 9max?
i've been wracking my brains and here's what i've come up with so far...
6max:
runs up to 5ks
if you game select, you get way more hands vs the desired fish
more hands per $raked
slightly faster
can play hypers for insane volume
9max:
lots of bad players barely need to game select
can play way more tables if they're running
more situations for bad regs to make mistakes (3 extra positons)
(i assume) higher roi due to longer games so smaller downswings
fish more likely to return due to 2 runner up prizes rather than 1
good preparation for final tables
DISCUSS!! throw everything you've got at me! baring in mind... i highly doubt i'll ever play stakes higher than 50-100$ so the fact that in 6maxes we can play 5ks is pretty much irrelevant to me unless something huge changes.

From what you’ve described, the biggest factor might be your ability to multi-table. If you’re comfortable mass-tabling, 9-max has the edge in sustainability and long-term stability. If you prefer an action-packed, exploit-heavy approach, 6-max could be better.
Personally I would consider what format will be better at honing your skills for MTTs. I'm guessing that is 9-max due to increased ICM play, but I'm not sure.
The reason I say this is because from what I've heard the profit ceiling is pretty low in STTs these days. There just aren't really many profitable high stakes STTs available to most people.
So I would consider the value of the skills you're building playing these games. Eventually you might outgrow the games you're currently playing and want to switch to MTTs for increased profit potential.
Edit: just noticed the OP is from 2021. Lol. I'll leave my post up in case anyone else reads it that is in a similar situation.
