Live Tournament Weak Tells

Live Tournament Weak Tells

I notice sometimes players get nervous about putting in money stabbing or calling light.

For example, at 400/800/800, there was a 4-way limped pot. The flop was checked around and I bet 1000 out of the SB on the turn. The in position player called and was asking for his change back thinking I bet 1xBB for 800. It was a good indication he didn't have much and I could take it with a barrel.

In another case, I player cbet and started to muck his hand thinking no one called. Then he check/folded the turn.

Also if your guna bluff, the hand right before the break and the last hand of the day 1, day 2 etc is a good time. No one wants to get KO on last hand. Most people auto fold

I think it's amazing how many people telegraph their intended action, out of turn. Whether folding or calling, a small delay from you sometimes gives you the intention of every player on your left.

This doesn’t happen often but also, sometimes holding up on your action preflop can be a gold mine of info. I never look at my cards until it’s my turn to act preflop. I had 3 people fold to my left in a live tourny recently before I even looked at my cards and the guy to my left says sorry. I didn’t say anything but it’s like thanks you have me a ton of info before I acted bc your fold out of turn leads to 2 others folding also.

Also like other said- raising like much lighter than normal on last hand or few hands of the day can be great. It’s kinda like opening super light during a money bubble bc folks will over fold like crazy to just make the money. Secret is if you have a big stack, just min open and let people over fold. I knows it laughable but picking up 2.5 bbs 2-3 times can be huge in a tourny during mid to late stages. Also can just cbet super small if a bb defend happens to exploit folks tightening up too much.

The best bubble abuse to me is keeping the pots small but betting/raising every straight or flush that flop turns or rivers. Never defining your hand but bluffing when the five card hands hit.
