Optimal move with JJ

Optimal move with JJ

Hello,

I would appreciate your opinion for the following spot.

Live tourney at small local casino, pool of 30 players, 90bb effective, right after the registration has been over.

Table is 9 handed

stacks
UTG+1 - 30bb
HJ - 100-120bb
BB - 90 bb

After loosing a big hand, Super loose whale in UTG+1 shoves 30bb, 2 folds, and HJ, a tight - "REG" player not being so active, pretty fast flats. co-btn-sb folds and hero at BB holds JJ.

Hero in the bb is the only deep stack of 90bb . (co - btn - sb where at around 25-35bb - but folded)
HJ - by reg we asume someone who played marginal hands, didnt give a lot of action, seemed to know what he was doing mostly, never saw him bluffing, but for sure wasn't Matteo Adrian.

what's hero play ?
Optimal play? adjust to above info?

thank you

Not crazy about any option, but I would go all in. If the whale is super loose, you don't need to be worried about him. If the HJ had QQ-AA, he would shove in order to isolate the whale, so my guess is he has a hand like AQ or a pair that you beat. If he has a pair that you beat you can't fold, but if you call you probably won't be able to get more from him unless three undercards come. So your goal is to fold him out and play heads up against the whale for a chance to triple your investment.

Occasionally you're going to be crushed, but that's just tournament poker.

This is a very borderline spot for me. The question is, if we jam do we have any Fold Equity? HJ would have to pay 60 bb's to win 150 bb's if we jam. It is unlikely he would fold with AK/AQ which are possible calling hands. Though really i don't see why HJ didn't jam with these hands...

I agree with LifeNitFL that if HJ had QQ/KK it would likely be a jam but on occasion people will call with AA. I got knocked out by jamming QQ and KK in this type of spot against AA. I also think that HJ can have hands like 66-TT here (where TT is more likely than 66).

I have no problem with a jam. I also don't mind a call with intent to jam if nothing higher than a J comes on the flop.

It used to be fashionable in these spots to flat with KK/AA in the hope of a side pot developing, and to jam a lot of lesser hands to isolate.
In a live local game I’m folding vs some, jamming vs others and flatting vs the rest. Which is to say that we can exploit the reads we have on our regular opponents.

In a vacuum? GII!
