Milestone Satellite / General Advice
Hey everyone, I’m about to play in my first Milestone Satellite next week and I’ve never played this structure before.
Do you guys have any suggestions / tips / adjustments you’d make for this style of Tournament?
One thing I’ve read is that if you’re nearing the chip limit to win a seat, there’s no reason to risk more chips than what is necessary to get you to the chip threshold, because it doesn’t matter if you win the pot with 5000 chips or 10 chips over the threshhold.
Any help is much appreciated!

Sometimes if there is enough money in the pot to put you over the milestone you may want to raise to take it down immediately.
Also, typically about half the seats will go to players that hit the milestone, and the other half or so go to the last players still playing (like in a traditional satellite). So there's still a lot of value to just staying alive.
Like if there are 20 seats available and you start with 200 players, typically towards the end of the tournament about 10 players will have hit the milestone. So you will be down to 10 seats up for grabs with 13 or 14 players still playing. Once enough players are eliminated everyone still playing gets a seat. So don't feel like you HAVE to hit the milestone.
