3BP OOP

100/200/200

Firstly I'm primary a cash player so don't have much knowledge of playing MTT's.

UTG limps
CO opens to 800 (18k)
Hero 3B AsJd to 2300 (Covers)
UTG calls
CO calls

the opener, so far had not opened many hands, so I was a bit unsure if this is still a 3B vs a player on the tighter side

Flop KsQc5d (7400)

Hero bets 3000
Co calls

OTF this board should be great for us, So I decided to bet 3000. Not sure on my sizing here maybe its a bit too big

Turn 7h (13400)

OTT I really wasn't sure what is best to do here He can still have some draws and Qx, Im not sure how much Kx he will have most players fast play strong hands so maybe dont have KQ. KJ I do have a blocker. AK would probably 4B pre

Assuming you are SB or BB, your 3bet is way too small. You need to be going at least 3k if not 4k here.

I probably wouldn’t 3bet this hand OOP at this depth so early in the tourney to begin with. These guys are going to make so many mistakes later in the hand that I don’t think it’s worth bloating the pot OOP. Of course IP this would be a fine 3b squeeze (and again slightly bigger size).

As played I would bet flop smaller like .25 or .33 and then give up on turn. It’s too early to go blasting off with nothing here vs unknowns. Stakes matter too.

Small stakes buy in is going to be overwhelmingly fish and stations. This is just a punt vs them imo.

I'm likely not going to 3-bet here with AJo especially OOP. I would if CO had opened originally. It just seems that players who raise over limpers actually have very strong hands.

If I was raising I would make it 2400 OTB and 3200 in the SB or BB. But again I doubt I would raise in the BB and probably wouldn't raise OTB.

Yeah forgot to mention I was SB. My other option I was mainly considering folding.

But this is a low stakes £50 buy in. Most are weak players

I forgot to say what I would do on the flop and turn.

Typically HU on a flop that is KQx I will bet about 2/3 pot so it would be 5000 here. It smashes our range and over time that bet sizing will make us a lot of money and will also get a lot of people to fold (especially PP's).

On the turn given you think Villain doesn't have a K I would probably bet about 8000. The problem is that there are very few draws and we are blocking them (JT/AT/J9s). If I had bet 5000 on the flop and was called I typically will check here indicating a hand like AQ/JJ/TT and often Villain will check back Qx hands and PP's.

Ya I see it as 3 way pot oop we are gonna be more polar than if the initial limper folded. If he folds sure you can probably make a smaller range bet. But he called so now I like 2/3 or even bigger prob checking all my KK, Betting all QQ, AK, some KQ, and then bluffs. How many Idk and AJo cant be the worst it depends where you want the bottom of your betting range to be do you want it to be something with even more equity like an ATs with a bdfd do you want it be some 0 equity hand like 76s or an underpair (probably not?). And checking all our completely dead/middling hands with KQ and all KK.

PF has to also be way bigger oop. IP I think you can pick w/e sizing you want even as low as a minraise.

Turns why you could argue you might want more equity with the bottom of your cbet range. JT, sure barrel away, AXs on turns that bring in the bdfd sure blast away. AJo ehhh If you picked it to cbet with I'm struggling to find other bluffs here so technically you might have to go for it. Luckily you're not playing a gto bot and you can do w/e the fk you want and in practice I think you can always give up whenever you want for any reason you want.

Edit: to clarify you might very well have additional bluff combos OTT not just AJo exclusively so you could have enough combos to barrel with I was just thinking of a world where you only had AJo.
