hating life with Kings

sup fellas

Live 1/2 Game 5 handed, Hero sat down 20 Minutes ago, all players unknown to him but so far no reason to assume anything other than the typical line up.
Hero (~100bb) opens UTG with KK98, folded to BB (has me covered) who 3bet pots it, we call.
Flop: AKQ
Villain bets pot.

Hero..?

Calls. This is not hard.

Pretty much a Call .. Now you're in for 28bb(?) and have to make a decision on the Turn .. hopefully at least a Spade comes out. Automatically running away from scary Flops will drain you pretty quickly in PLO. The decision points are generally the Turn when the pot is much bigger.

I'm not a solver guy, but I'd assume that in a 5-handed game that you could 4b this PF in position and be ready to 'sigh' call it off for 100bb. That being said, you can willing to put in chips on this Flop when you 'hit' and can improve to a 5-card hand at Showdown. GL

Ditto the above.

KK in PLO is like AQ in hold'em. That's a good comparison. It'll kill ya some times. And it will be "by the book"...

Overall strat w/ KK vs pot

Looks like we mainly want to block AA and straights to continue and are binning the rest.

This obv assumes bb's 3b range isn't insane and somewhat reasonable.

I’m 4betting this exact KK.

As played I was going to advocate folding the flop sometimes, but actually we just call in position and fold the turn instead lol.
