Abstract AA question PLO5
Hi all,
I have a meta question about AA preflop. I know of course Aces are not nearly as good as in PLO4, but they are still a great hand.
I was sitting on 56bb in the CO and open with AA733ss nut suit to one of the aces. The button calls, SB pots (he also has around 50bb), BB calls - he is deeper, I repot, being all in at this point, button folds, SB puts in the rest of his chips and BB calls.
Now these particular aces are not very good, but I have one nut suit and i am short. When the button folded I though good news, one player out of the way, but when SB instantly called i suspected he had AA as well - which means that the BB, if he chooses to call and does not have complete trash, is actually the favorite.
Sure enough the SB had AAT53, one nut suit as well, the BB had some middling hand, not very good - QQJT2, trisuited to the Jack, but still was 42% favorite to take the pot. I was only 28%.
Now I would not just put this in the category of variance, this hand was very much -EV.
But I am very puzzled on how to proceed. Open i think is standard, then someone 3 bets me, what do i do? Throw it away? Call? Most flops will not connect with me at all, I need to be deeper to be speculative about hitting an A or a FD. All 3 options seem bad in a way, and this with (albeit mediocre) AA...
Appreciate any insight or tips!

You need to zip your analysis back to the decision point, not what it turned out they had. If SB only has premium AA in his range for 3betting you might be able to justify folding. But that's not particularly common. And you can most likely carry on calling and maybe find some folds on naughty boards. Or something. But the wider their range here, the more you can and should just cram 50bbs in pre with AA. And their range really ought to include plenty of hands that aren't premium AA.
You're 38% 3 way against them assuming they have a 5% range. You're 40% vs 10% range - either way I think cramming it in is the way to go. I would download PPT and play around with calcs - this is just being results oriented
Some people only 3b aces. If that’s SB, fold. If he 3b other hands like premium ace high rundown or great kings you should ship it.
this question would be a lot more interesting if you had 200bbs+
not much to to think about at 50bbs.
