Would be nice to know to what degree or in what way you've observed him vary his 3betting range according to bb / sb / btn - they ought to look different. Absent that, preflop is standard for me (I can see some nits arguing for a fold, I'm not arguing strongly in favour of an open, I wonder if we can consider open-limping this)/
Similar reasons to bet the flop as the QT43 hand. You have a blocker to the current nuts, you have outs to the nuts, you have some range advantage, and with little in the way of draws available, you don't expect to be check-raised very often. With the J and 8 in your hand in fact you block even more of his check-raising range. It would have to be something like AA98 with 2 bdfds and I doubt you're doing awfully against that hand, probably like 30-35%. Having both a bdfd and bdsd - 5, 6, Q and A improve your draw - but aren't on their own enough justification to protect by checking back. You most want to check back to protect your backdoor draws when you're likely to get check-raised. When you're likely to get check-called, you can now use those backdoors as indicators to barrel, or now you can realise your increased equity for free (e.g. Q or A that put up a fd not in spades would be excellent now to check back with 6 nut outs only).
Funny in that not just should you have stabbed this flop, again, it's for similar reasons. Here you'll actually have the best hand a decent amount and are protecting your equity vs an A / Q or other bad cards. Not just that, but a better hand like naked QQ or even KK might just check-fold to your flop bet.
Pre is standard.
You can check back this hand sometimes in theory (maybe ~30%). You can't just go barreling every hand of this type but the default should be bet.
