Preflop 4! ranges

If you are shallow, I guess 4-betting AA is fine. It seems like there is a problem that if you 4-bet only AA, you are somewhat face up. Is it better to sometimes 4-bet strong rundowns, which you can probably call a 5!, knowing the opponent has AA?

It depends on 2 things:
- The 3bet range of the 3bettor
- The position

1. If you are facing the nitty 3bet range, then you can only apply the simple strategy to only 4bet with AA preflop.

2. If you are facing a loose 3bet range and you are in position, then you can apply the simple strategy to only 4bet with AA preflop as well.
Solver suggest to 4bet with some AQQds and some strong rundowns without K because KKds is the main target which you want to fold when you 4bet with these kinds of hands. But I think playing these AQQds and strong rundowns IP is good as well.

3. If you are facing a loose 3bet range and you are not in position, you can extends your 4bet range with AKKds, AQQds and strong rundowns because now you want to lower the SPR as much as you can preflop to help making easier decision postflop while out of position.

If you're not also explicitly thinking about blockers within your 3b and 4b ranges, you're giving up huge amounts of EV. AKxxds becomes an auto3b in a lot of situations as a result, and JT97ss an auto flat.

There was a hand in some PLO tournament where Negreanu 3! AKxxds and people were going on and on about what a fish he was in the NVG bash Negreanu thread.

When NVG gives strat advice the best play is usually the opposite of what they say. Can you find the hand?

I can't find it exactly. It was reported in NVG from his vlog, a final table video, a press report or something. I think BTN open raised, DN 3! from the SB, BTN shoved for a little less than pot and DN called off with something like AsKd5s3d.
The comments were that he didn't know how to play PLO. It was a junk hand that should be folded. People play those high stakes PLO tournaments because DN is in them as dead money, etc.
