DBBP strong enough to flat?
Playing $2/3/6 NLHE with a PLO DBBP at every dealer change.
H is mid position and short stack at ~$400. Several really
The smaller the SPR and our stack size the less equity we need to stack off profitably and we can also stack off with a larger portion of our range. The larger the SPR and our stack size in BB the more equity we need to stack off and the stronger our range needs to be to get significant BBs inThis is a unique situation where SPR is 5 but the relative size of our stack is only 7
What makes you think Hero doesn't have more than 45% or more equity heads up and 35% 3way? If Hero does get all-in 3way on flop it won't always be great, but bomb pots create action, its not really going to be avoidable.
Good players should have no problem folding weaker 76xx combos vs pot and re-pot, maybe even a single pot on this texture.
Villain also shouldn't be potting premium combo draws on flop anyway, as he makes more money betting less and getting more callers.
Jamming flop guarantees Hero fully realizes his equity, which is the entire point, without nut redraws and awkward multiway playability on many turns.
Imagine this spot is like Galfond encouraging trying to fast-play set over set in certain 4c situations, but fast-playing vulnerable nut straight with good redraw instead.
Even if villain folds to our re-pot, that is a great result for Hero.
Also note, Hero is the effective short-stack, which means he can profitably re-shove lighter than everyone else at the table, so not reshoving a top of this range hand like this that benefits from protection would be very problematic for our overall strategy.
Even if villain is somehow potting a fundamentally sound range, Hero may just be coolering him as a 55+/45- or even 60+/40- favorite etc, as all 4 cards are working for us. We dominate other 76 combos, its only some of the jj/99/88 hands that are more competive. We have no problem stacking off vs even super premium ajtx combos and still are likely equity favorite vs that range
Ok and running the sim, Hero is indeed a favorite over both ajt:hh, and a99hh.
Hero even has a backdoor spade redraw on bare straight board.
