2/2 Live: Easy shove or snap fold?
2/2 Live 4 card PLO, 9 handed, 650 effective stacks. I've only been at the table 20 minutes and have never seen the main villain. So, initial reads are very spotty but appears to be recreational, loose pre-flop, and somewhere between passive and aggressive post flop. I'm mainly interested in the 2nd flop decision, but comments on pre-flop and initial flop decision are also appreciated. If anyone is interested, I will post my thought process and results later.
I have 8866 dd in EP and open to 5 (in this game, initial open is anywhere between 2 and 8). Villain calls, button calls, small blind clicks it to 10, big blind calls 10, I call, and villain and button call so 5 ways to the flop of 50.
Flop is 9 6 4 cc, no diamond. I have middle set, no back-up, but am blocking straight/wrap draws. Small blind leads out for 50, big blind folds, I call, and villain raises to 250, button folds, and small blind calls, action to me?

This is why we fold low PP hands in live PLO.
Too multi-way n the hand just doesnβt perform well vs opponents who never fold any PP preflop.
Sigh fold n move on. If you are shown shitty hands adjust accordingly.
Thanks and wow! So, even a connected (8s and 6s, with one suit) is a pre-flop fold in live play? Makes sense I suppose because as you say so many flops end up being 4 or 5 way. I did end up sighing and folding and was shown a shi**y (top and bottom two pair) hand.
I would play this pf. You can fold 8855 or even 6655 for the reasons Echemondo stated but if you're willing to fold bottom set postflop in bad situations you are capable of playing them even tho they can be a bit dangerous. Middle set is def tricky wo a read on V tho. A lot of recs are gonna have bottom set here too and if he showed up with top and bottom then you obv should be stacking this off vs him. I'd prob lean towards a fold here wo a read but you'll be in enough good scenarios with these hands where people will pay off with much worse
Also I'm very high % raising SB $50 myself which probably makes this whole hand play out differently. I don't see much reason to flat here vs the guy that clicked it back pf and probably has way more AKQxcc or AAxx/KKxxcc than ever having 99
Definitely raising this preflop and definitely not folding the flop when there's a bunch of wraps and flush draws out there.
Preflop open should be to the maximum. You see for yourself the problems this sort of hand encounters when very multiway to the flop. No reason to use a smaller sizing.
Thank you for all of the comments, much appreciated! And, I hope to never see any of you at the poker room I play at, unless we are there to share a meal together.
This is awkward. One of the reason Hero can over-fold given the action is we block some of the 87xx combos we want to give action.
If villain potted with top and bottom, maybe he is a fish and we just stack off, but 300bb deep this is an ugly spot to stack off when villain ranges are so too set heavy.
We may be blocking 8s but we're unblocking the 8c.
