Strategy for playing sets on a possible straight flop
Ok so lets say our SPR on the flop is around 4-6. In a three way pot and we are first to act. Lets say the flop comes a possible straight (rainbow), in first example JT9, in second J98. And we have either top or middle set. Im for sure checking the bottom set on these flops but how would you treat this situations for top and middle sets? Any difference depending on the flop? Is it fine betting out, stacking off? Maybe sometimes even check raising? Typically i am check calling this kind of situations, but i am not very happy with that strategy...
Also how would strategy change heads up?

Probably it really depends on the side cards and if we are not blocking our full house outs?
You don't play middle set particularly aggressively without at least a nut gutshot or 2xbdfd / blocker.
You play top set aggressively because you always have equity and you're repping a hand you don't have. If you rep the straight and then the board pairs, great things can happen.
Check-call is good because we're also doing the same with the straight, and some possible draws. Why aren't you very happy with that strategy?
Im not happy because many times on the turn i have to fold to a pot sized bet. So I am just wondering if it is any better course of actions. I am not using any solver thus far, but i feel i might be making mistakes in playing too passively those sets.. Yes at least top set I will be betting more often...
That's okay, to check-fold to a psb ott. You're highly likely up against a straight, in that case, and you don't have odds to call, and your hand becomes somewhat face-up which means you probably won't get paid if it pairs.
