5/5/10: A A K 5 rainbow, live 9 handed

Button (effective stack 1800): Very skilled thinking rec. Always buys in for max, very tight pre-flop, but can be super aggressive, sticky, and tricky post flop, definitely a winner in this game.

SB (effective stack 265): Very casual rec, buys in for the min, very loose pre-flop usually limping if first in, post flop can overvalue some draws or weak two pair, but if shows super aggression with big bets, will usually have it. Willing to gamble when short.

EP (effective stack 1000): Unknown

I have A A K 5 rainbow in the BB. EP player limps, Button raises to 50, SB calls, I call, straddle folds, EP calls, pot is 210, 4 way. Flop is K 5 2 dd (I have the ace of diamonds). EP checks (and doesn't seem interested in the hand), button bets 125, SB shoves for 215, action on me?

Pre-flop I chose to just call because I had no fold equity, and would likely be faced with playing a multi-way pot OOP (and particularly against the button with an SPR around 4), and bad aces. Probably a mistake but am interested in thoughts.

On the flop decision, I have a very vulnerable top two, with little to no backup, and two others already showing interest in the pot. Is folding too weak? Do I raise and basically commit to try to knock out the button? Is calling an option?

So 1800 is the effective stack? If that's the case I like the call pre - if you had say 1k I would rather 3b it. I think 1800 deep we just call and play a turn - if you pot you're basically towards the bottom of your range hoping he folds.

You make at least a reasonable case for not potting pre. But there's another option you may not have considered. Raise just less than sb's remaining stack (215), to 150 for example. That will give both button and SB an opportunity to reopen action. I think this option is better than calling.

As played, I think raising now is best but leaving enough to make meaningful turn plays is important. Raise to 600, call if he jams, and gii all diamonds, board pairs, and 7+. kc the aces. Kf the straight cards.

Don't mind the preflop call this deep. Your hand is too vulnerable and you block too much to not raise here imo. Best to knock out EP and the button, and hope a diamond or straight card doesn't come for the SB. In terms of the button, you block KK, 55 and you have AA with the diamond, so what could he have to continue with here? Bare AA folds unless it is AA34. If he does have KKxx, so be it. Is the K on the board one of the diamonds? If not, maybe he could have a AKQJ/KQJT with K high diamonds hand he can continue with.
