2-2 5bi PLO5 - Weird River Spot

Live game, lots of limping, not a lot of 3b, and a lot of family pots. Most 3b still went 3-5 ways to a flop, almost no 4b. 1 solid pro, couple of avg regs, a few bad players. V (utg+1- 3K eff) seems to be a so-so reg but have not played with him before. Fairly straight forward so far, won a big pot with Set v Set, haven't seen him get out of line, but haven't seem him show down much yet either so not a lot to go off of for reads.

Hero's image is a solid, good player for this lineup. One of the few to 3b pre and I did just 3b and 5b preflop to gii a few orbits ago with AAKQT dbl suited against a bad, loose reg (650 eff) to my right with KJT72 single suit who made a bad boat to take down the $1400 pot.

Hero (3.5K) otb with KK655 hh&ss both to the K

Pre: utg 5, V calls, utg+2 makes it 25, 2 calls, Hero calls, BB, UTG, and V calls (7 ways)

Flop (175): 754 rainbow, one spade
Checks to Hero, I bet 125, V calls, everyone else folds

Turn (425): 3s
V checks, I bet 325, V calls

River (1075): Jx
V donk bets $800, Hero?

I'd prob pot pre since you have position and are deep. Sort of odd for him to play 68 this slow and then donk the river with it. The biggest concern is you can easily have 68 here and almost always have the 7 high straight yet here he is donking big on the river. I feel like we have to fold - hard to find bluffs for him and we're uncapped

This is just always 68 from a straightforward reg. Hero can easily have the nuts, why would V bomb a blank runout vs an uncapped range?

Thanks for the responses. I had a hard time understanding how he could play 86 like this. Why would he not be check raising the turn if he was just going to donk the river as the turn is where 86 gets the maximum value? Having the most ideal holding for him with a set, 2nd nut straight, and the flush draw, I would have to call any raise size on the turn but there are other combos that would be calling a turn raise as well. In real time I was also thinking if there was any chance he could be trying to blow me off of a chop.

This is a pretty reasonable way to play nuts no redraw in 5 card.

I probably check this flop 7ways. We don't have a lot of strong run-outs. If I did bet I'm sizing smaller, like 75.

As played I'd bet the turn but smaller, like 225. Four liners are difficult to extract thick value so we size down to interact with parts of range where we have an advantage.

As played, fold river seems ok. It's weird but afraid of being free rolled may explain it.
