I make the call and hope that the BTN comes along. I don't think raising accomplishes much at this point unless you are considered very tight -- and even then I probably flat. I realize the river might be tricky, but folding seems overly tight.

I'd bet the flop 3 way after he checks - would definitely call the turn.

Good Lord, bet 100 on the flop! I fold turn as β€œloose passive” button could have anything in the world. β€œVery good post flop” V could have say AQQT and picked up nut bdfd, or have been going for a cr on the flop with a hand that crushes us. We have only 2-3 river cards that make the nuts, and maybe 12-13 that allow one of the others to double through us.

Are you guys bet/folding the flop?

Yes flop bet folds when raised, maybe barrels some turns when called.

Fwiw I think the flop bet is close. Maybe with the oe we have a bit too much to bf. HUIP I think it's a clearer bet than in this 3way config.

Also waffling on pre. Sure I play this hand class in this and similar spots. But not otb, three blinds left to act, and not deep enough maybe we can do better?

Yeah, Ive read you can fold hands like 6778ds preflop most of the time, but also occasionally raise with them fir deception.

But this hand certainly shows how troublesome they can be, and that’s a decent flop for it.

Probably 3b or fold pre, if we were otb and the loose-passive player were in the blinds I'd like flatting

This isn't a particularly decent flop for this hand, and having blockers for the low end of the straight draw isn't much fun. We're playing this hand to spike huge, and this is very far from it. Not a huge fan of betting this flop as we've got very little visibility on turns and rivers and could find ourselves barrelling into a bunch of traps.

3-way postflop is a hybrid between the looseness of heads up and the tightness of true 4+ way multiway. And this point is important because Hero in the CO is the turd sandwich stuck between EP preflop raiser and the Button.

On the flop the EP player checked. Look what happened here, the Button now is the player sandwiched between Hero and EP (the preflop raiser). The Button is in bad shape and has to fold a lot being sandwiched here, especially fearing a check-raise from the preflop raising EP player if Hero bets flop. You gain the positional advantage for the rest of the hand if you bet the flop and get the Button to fold. And, guess what happens if you don't bet the flop and it gets checked through? Hero as the CO on the turn is the turd sandwich again stuck between EP and BU. Checking the flop doesn't help Hero much. But betting the flop helps a lot.

Worth mentioning is some of the people around here are slaves to conventional bet sizes. The conventional bet size on this texture is probably 67% - 75%. But the EP player at 50/40 isn't playing standard. The Button being loose passive isn't playing standard. If you have the balls to make a non-standard bet size on the flop, especially if you think the EP is "good postflop" and tricky, then use an "exploitative" bet 33% on this flop and fold to a check-raise.

betting the flop is terrible

Turn might just be a fold. Arguably turn raise is better than call, as we can rep 2nd set, and BTN range is somewhat capped from flop checkback.

Also I disagree with flop bet, loose passive behind and LAG crusher in front is a bad configuration for bet of any size really with this band, but small sizing weakens Hero range immediately to mostly trashy stabs and a small number of monsters strong enough to bet tiny. Which oppponents may be able to reduce further by key blockers.

3bet/fold preflop, particularly with a loose passive player behind us who is going to steal our positional advantage. If villain wasn't playing so wide, this would be an easy fold vs a tight UTG range.

Check flop; our outs are not to the nuts and we have minimal fold equity with the fish behind us.

Feel like turn is a mandatory call, but raising doesn't make much sense imo...what hand xb the flop and now raises?

Turn raise would rep a pretty narrow range. Value is mostly sets, and mostly 88 since most 33/22 hands are trash. with a redraw t887, ak33ss, 3345 type stuff. Even a jt98, qt98 type hand. Because Hero has the 8, he would primarily be repping a set of 8s of course, and more likely to check than top set. If Hero had a hand like QJ88 for example, that could be a cool candidate to check.

Jankier stuff would include nut flush draws. Certain jjxx/ttxx/qqxx overpairs, like double overpair with some kind of straight draw or flush blockers. Good blockers with wheel redraw.

Thinking behind a turn raise is more about punishing the opener on a board that is not good for his range, especially if he is the 'OK everyone checked now I am going to bet all of my AAxx/KKxx type player'.

But again my reasoning is mostly that raise could be better than call, because I suspect call is a losing play and marginal at best.
