How do you think about GTO 3 betting ranges?

I've been doing the PLO Mastermind 3 betting exercises, and can't quite wrap my head around what the solver wants me to 3b vs flat (IP vs EP open 6 max 100bb deep).

Q876 double suited (3b)

QJ65 double suited (3b)

AKQ4 single suited (flat)

AK98 double suited (3b)

A964 double suited (fold)

AT98 single suited(3b)

AQ94 double suited (flat)

I'm having trouble coming up with a heuristic to define the line between flat and 3b. The closest I've come is "If it's double suited and not good enough to call a 4b, but too good to fold, then 3b" - but hands like AQ94 double don't quite fit.

How do you think about constructing your 3b range IP?

Some of them are head scratchers, but the solver likes to give coverage to the medium-low connected flops with double-suited hands like K976 ds or Q986 ds. I think these are both 3bets BTN vs UTG in PLO Mastermind. The hands aren't usually 'dominated' by a typical raising range and, from a metagame perspective, it allows you to play and have bluffs on a wider range of board textures.

I tried 3-betting with those hands with mixed results- not good enough to always do it, but it's useful at some frequency. Solver must be assuming you're going to get some folds, which isn't accurate in the low stakes games I play. You get fish cold calling the 3bet from the blinds, and often a big multiway pot.

I've noticed, watching high stakes PLO games, that not many of the top pros are employing this strategy at a high frequency. Maybe because it's tough to call a 200k bet with a 9-high flush.
