Big bomb pot analysis
Hi all,
I just played a big (single board) PLO5 bomb pot.
It was 10bb per person instead of the usual 6bb, since everyone was in the mood. 9 Players.
I am short stacked, maybe have 50-60bb left after posting the chips.
Most people over 200bb, even more. 1-2 people around 100bb.
I am in middle position and it folds to me.
I have AJT98ds
Flop (90bb):
873r (one of my suits only)
Given the pair and the wrap I just ship it, with SPR around 0,6.
CO also goes all in with around 100bb, slightly less.
Button tanks and then calls ... with 333XY. Turn 2, River 8, and he wins with a boat against my trips.
Don't remember what cutoff had, and the fact that I didn't win is irrelevant - I had the right odds.
I am more curious how could button call with such a bad hand, am I wrong to think he actually made a big mistake?
It's 5 card and 2 people said they have something. If anyone has 88 or 77 he is drawing dead.
His other 2 cards were inconsequential, like K4 or J4.
Assuming his set is ahead right now, which it was, still puts him in bad shape, and it is a strong assumption to think so. Given 9 people saw the flop with 5 cards each.

No, youβre not, and I hope you let him know right then & there how big a mistake it was.

Thank you for the equity calculation!
Regarding the second part, haha, of course i did not and also wouldn't tell him about any mistake, you do not want to berate any players and also want people to keep making blunders.
