Live - Getting owned in the blinds
5/5/10 - 9 handed - timed rake
I've been leaking money in the blinds in these spots.
Hand1
Eff 1900
Some limpers, Hero in bb opens to 45 w/AAKKdd 3 callers
4way flop - 338r, Hero cbets 50, straddle(passive guy) calls, Utg raises to 300.
UTG is an asian in 50s, wide preflop usually have tight image postflop but can get aggro and rep all sorts of hands. Within the past 2 hours, every single paired board(maybe 3-4+ times already), this guy has been repping the boats going for the x/r on them turns. He took them down without much effort since people were obviously capped. Maybe his image allows him to play aggressively in such situations.
Anyhow I folded not only because UTG is in hand, straddle has a 3x a good amount.
Hand2
Eff vs +2 1000
Eff vs MP 3k
Some limpers, Hero in bb opens to 75 w/AKKJdd
+2 calls - passive guy normally, has been stacked multiple times, might be tilted?
mp calls - opens wide preflop, postflop has some aggression but nothing crazy.
3way pot 250 Flop J93ss xxx
Turn 4 H checks, +2 bets 200, MP folds, H folds
I'm thinking maybe he has some 56ss, some TQxxss, some 44xx, some J4xx.
Were we supposed to bet turn ourselves?

You have to remember in good live games we are going multi-way a lot and you need a very strong hand to put money in the middle with so many hands in play.
That means it’s ok to fold alot of flops and you should theoretically as well. Your goal isn’t to win every time you raise. It’s to win a few very large pots over the course of the night.
If you pot preflop and get 6 callers everytime, you only need to win 1 out of 6 times to break even and anymore than that you profit. If you manage to stack someone 1 out of those 6 times, you overrealize your equity and edge.
This is where the money comes from in live poker.
It’s boring but incredibly easy. Don’t overthink these spots. You realized your equity preflop by raising and getting all the callers, postflop the hand just wasn’t strong enough on these boards and that’s ok. You will eventually get one that is and win a large enough pot to overrealize ur equity and your pot share.
Like said above, it’s fine to raise pre and check fold flop with big hands.
Why not raise the max pf with Hand 1?
I would’ve been tempted to bet out ott with Hand 2 but I’m pretty sure that’s EV-.
