For me, the alternatives are pot or check (and don't fold).
Against a rec, its probably ok to pot turn. He might slow down and take free card against you, there are some tough rivers to navigate.
He may also make incorrect calls and fold against your bet.
btw, I don't think check-jamming flop is bad at all. K-blocker and the best bd-ld.
At what spr are we too deep to cr on flop?
