A3478
5-10-20 Big O. Villain in HJ is extremely tight, very fit or fold with 1800. Btn is a station with 2k. We cover
Hero in LJ with A3478ds with dry 4d and no spades.
Pre: Hero open 60, V raises to 185, btn cold calls, hero calls. 3 ways
Flop (590) : J32dds
Hero..
What if we had A3458 same suits?

Seems like a check and probably fold.
A45 would be significantly better, though against a nit without diamonds you have to be pretty careful.
Start with a check for sure, no reason to start betting mediocre hands at this depth.
I don't think this is a texture we would want to develop a leading range OOP in a 3BP as the PFC so I would range check this spot. If the PFR cbets small and btn folds I think we can peel but if btn calls I'm folding. Also vs large cbet size it's close and might lean fold w/o strong BD's as I would expect us to be pretty dominated vs a large cbet range.
Even if we had the nut lo wrap with diamonds I'm still range checking the flop and calling vs any size even if btn calls and I would x/r if we have NFD.
Villain extremely tight + not advantageous board for your range + not a hand that benefits a lot from leading = check.

: Check too.
Yeah this one felt like a big punt and put me in no man’s land on the turn.
Flop (590) : J32dds
Hero 590, HJ calls
Turn (1770) : Jx
Hero (1K eff left)
I thought I could push a hand like AA2dd out.
Are you guys range checking flop? I thought I would have more A4 than HJ.
Yes I am range checking. Maybe you do have more A4 than HJ, but A4 is only a low draw. He has way more AA and as I said before since you don't have Ad he often does, especially when he continues.
Turn is a fair bluff for sure.
