Assuming vs a regular, I don’t think he’s betting one pair hands often with this size, so the spades combo is actually worse here than clubs. Leaning towards fold we have Ax with a pair as better bluff catchers and some 7x.
I don't hate hero calling. Most ppl won't value bet anything weaker than 5x and even that sometimes goes smaller, all Qx Jx Tx can take this line as a bluff.
If there's some secret sauce to knowing when someone is bluffing here I'd like to know, because anytime I've ever called in this spot they've had a straight.
There are much better bluff catchers than AKs. People can accidently be bluffing you with better.
