When deciding between checking and betting, consider your opponent's cold-calling range.
Opt for checking the flop against narrower ranges and continuation betting against wider ranges.
If you've identified the button as a recreational player, consider betting three streets for value with your overpair.

Flats IP are predominantly low PPs. I've also seen strong hands that don't want to fold pre, but these V won't 3bet. I.e. AQo, KJs etc
Thought this hand was kind of interesting so I looked up a few things.
Fish cold call (BTNvsCO)
Float Flop by sizing (BTNvsCO all boards)
Float Flop by sizing (Low boards all formations)
Float Stop n Go by sizing (BTNvsCO)
Tending towards XR the flop OB. Expecting many overcalls and we still realise lots of equity when he folds out broadway air
Another problem with XC is we're losing intiative on two streets when turn commonly goes XX, so two free cards for IP vs our vulnerable but probably currently nutted OP.
