Nut FD vs overbet jam in 3bet pot

Nut FD vs overbet jam in 3bet pot

Villain is a 22/17 reg over 179 hands. He's called 3bet IP 2 out of 2 times over that sample. Other than that no reads or history.

I'm checking the turn with the intention of x/jamming over a stab, but what do we do when he just overbet shoves? Are any value hands taking this line? Maybe a set that's scared of the FDs & gutshots? It feels a lot more likely to me that he's doing this with his own draws, trying to get folds from mid PPs and ace highs. But if that's the case, we're ahead a lot of the time and only behind hands like A J or 65. And no matter what he has, we have outs.

Is this ever a call?

Nah.

It's not even a good spot if they're a whale cos of the merge factor. Not sure what correct turn play is tho. think I like using it as a DB rather than a x/r. Or x/c then jam any d.

Calling a jam seems like the worst of all developments so life jacket on and press eject.

I agree with ceres. Double Barrel seems good
