Playing passively vs. maniac?

Playing passively vs. maniac?

BB is known to be a maniac, has 3bet mega wide and bluffed river bets with no SDV. For pf and flop i think no issues. My question is for turn, is raising here suitable? I am kind of afraid to do this in case Im running into getting called by better flushes or a paired Ah/Kh X. Then on river, I think in retrospect betting here to incentivise BB maniac to raise would be much better, as he should frequently raise with worse, so I think that was misplayed. What do you think? Thanks so much for the feedback as always!

33 hands and 3bet of 11% doesn't seem mega wide and why would someone be bluffing rivers with sdv haha, if you have sdv it's middle of range and check, bluffs come from hands that don't have enough equity to showdown

Flop and Turn are meh whatever imo can go either way on both.

River is a huge blunder we are checking back the third nuts in what is essential a triple check node, I would be value betting all my 2 pairs+ so all my flushes would be in there

The flop and turn look okay.

Bet/Call on the river if you know your opponent can bluff wide.

"raise" turn.

Yeah, I’m not sure why you think BB is a maniac. It’s certainly a small sample, so VPIP of 37.5% is maybe a bit loose, but also maybe just running well. Certainly nothing to indicate maniac play. PFR of 31.25 is about what you would expect for a decent player with a VPIP of 37.5, maybe even a bit low. OP, your PFR of 18.75 with the same VPIP as the maniac would indicate that you may be playing a bit too passively, but again it is a micro sample so I wouldn’t really conclude much from those stats.

And agreed on the river bluffing. If you find yourself bluffing a lot otr when you have SDV, you are doing it wrong. River betting ranges should usually be polarized - you bet when you either have a very strong hand or when you have nothing. Check and see showdowns when you are middling; don’t bluff these. You bet the river for two reasons - either to get called by a weaker hand or to get a stronger hand to fold. When you have a middling hand, the tendency is for your opponents to call when they have you beat and fold when they don’t - this is the exact opposite of what you want when betting the river.

As for the actual hand, PF and flop are fine. Min bet essentially functions as a check. Raise this and call if V reraise. Certainly you should be going for value on this river - villain has essentially checked all three streets. If he has the A or K high flush and he is aggressive, he isn’t likely to check the river.

I don't understand checking
