Maybe you could size up slightly on turn to make the river shove call easier for villain, but overall I think its not bad play.

Turn I think is fine in theory. You can probably get away with range for this size and like yeah whatever. I think i would be inclined to split though for mainly exploitative reasons. Villains range is likely way too strong here when he raises 4x from early position bets massive flop and then calls a xr. Therefore I think our two pair and sets are pretty happy to check and we can start going bigger with our straights+ vs a player who very likely just "likes the looks of their hand" especially with so many redraws.

Thanks guys. Yea, the river A really is an action killer too. Not that the 9c on the turn wasn't to some degree also, but that's part of my combo draw too, so it's not too unexpected. But I assume with the large open and roughly 75% flop bet, that he has a top range hand also. And this was a thought during the hand including PF. Having zero history on villain is an issue in that I don't know what the chances are he pays me off if I hit "better than his range" would be. Or if he'll think (with no history) that I'm just a donkey.

I agree I think the turn sizing should have been bigger. If I'm targeting his range, then I need to be targeting top-two and sets, that are still drawing they think to win and "might" think they're ahead sometimes vs a donkey like myself, leading into them. (again we have no history). When the river doesn't pair, any hopes of getting the rest in are pretty much gone 95% of the time I think.

I'm just coming back to PokerStars since I retired out of country. I used to 24 table 100nl back in the days pre-black Friday. Now it's just to supplement my retirement and take up some of my day. The games are not nearly as good as back then. But they are beatable imo if using good game selection and understanding the HUD very well to exploit habits of others. When I play in my mornings, it's late night for the Euros (I'm in Asia), and this is when the games are the best. Between the super aggro eastern Euro and the Canadian calling stations it can be good.

But it's the small PLO games! OMG! Plenty of clueless players, especially on the weekends, playing literally 85/3. or 65/45, etc. And folding to a 3b? NEVA! Folding to a 4b? RARE! lol Make bottom pair with no draw on a two tone board in a 3b pot? They're in! But it also makes it overly swongy too. :-)

It's nice to be back playing online and only able to play 4 games cash makes me not go overboard and play more optimally. The Supernova days are long gone.
