5nl - How we playing FD vs fish in limp/min3bet pot

5nl - How we playing FD vs fish in limp/min3bet pot

Does my line seem okay here?

Villian is 60/16 over 25 hands. He's been limp/calling a lot but this is the first time he limp/3bets. Hard to know exactly what he does this with considering fish are often just clicking buttons and he might just be frustrated at getting isolated the whole time, but I'm leaning towards giving him a pretty strong range. Like 88+ and AK/AQ, plus the random A2C which are always a possibility. So to anything but a min3bet I'm just folding pre.

HOWEVER, given the sizing and the implied odds I figured I'd call. Same goes for the turn, if he bets a bit bigger I'm just folding but given his sizing and the fact that if we hit a spade I assume we're stacking his JJ+ 100% of the time and maybe even his AK, AQ type hands which fish struggle to fold postflop even when they whiff. So I think a call is just about the right play here?

Yes seems OK.

Seems fine IMO. You aren’t folding either the flop or turn with your FD to those sizings. If you really think fish has a tight 3B range (which probably is true), you might consider a fold PF, but I don’t think calling is bad either.

Thanks guys!

I disagree. Fold pre

I think the iso is itself quite optimistic. We're hoping to hit a K and then what? We rarely play for stacks with this hand. It's not a super EV spot.

I can see the case for extension if you know for certain the fish is a station whale but we don't know that yet. Some limp-call recs are venerate flop see-ers and often shut down post. On top of that our sizing is bad. I'd go at least 4x+. I'd imagine they'd call range for 3x

Ya, looks fine. Depending how aggressive he is post, you could raise the flop, so that you can possibly either fold him out or control the turn. But I don't hate call/call.

Ya, looks fine.

3x ever good with a marginal iso tho? I havent' seen this argument made anywhere. The whole point of iso is either a) value town or b) fold equity. K6s has to be b) surely, and 3x only diminishes it

I would fold pre because... I play fast fold and I can get dealt another hand when I fold. But I think the iso is OK. Suited king in position, very playable. Yes it would be a bit better to make it 4x to maximise FE.
