Just moved up and facing a downswing, at least I hope it's a downswing losing to these donks is just depressing.
Anyway here is a typical spot, I think fold is standard but just checking. I am of course paranoid the pool is running me over but with a cold call in SB I just don't think he is bluffing his smaller pocket pairs here. I would really have to hope he is landing here with air to make it to 25% equity and I think I do fold most of it on the flop.

I'd bet turn small.
River folding is ok. Calling is ok if you have more reads.
Villain is repping Jx, 44, 33, and random flushes. His air range maybe a5, a2, 56 and pocket pairs.
I think cold call range in SB is pretty strong, pocket pairs, suited cards connectors/broadways and such.
hard to fold aces here but the check on the turn is sus. i'd call tbh
I think its gotta be a call for this sizing unless you think villain doesnt bet pocket pairs here, and i think after xx turn they easily could be. If we only give them suited Ah, suited heart connectors and 88-JJ, which i think is unrealistically good for them, you still have enough equity to call, unless i ****ed something up
This is definitely not a fold against a recreational, let alone a reg.
Cbet the turn as well as I'd assume his range is wide.
I'd stop being 'paranoid' and start looking at how you're playing in lines that you don't study. Fwiw there's a lot of free content out there which covers these lines and they tend to be the ones which make or break a winrate.
Thinking like a micro stakes fish here with a hand like 55 (which for me isn’t really too much of a stretch for me sometimes) and looking at your line:
He raised pre, but hey any two cards can win and I have a pair. He might not. I’m not going to just let him have it. Plus I already invested a nickel, so what the heck - call.
He bet the flop. Well, everyone knows that you always bet the flop after a raise. I got a pair of 5s here - that could be good. He probably doesn’t have a Jack so - call.
Wow, he checked back on the turn. I know darn well he doesn’t have a Jack now. I’m gonna bet the river - I MUST be good here with my fives. Yep, he folded. I was good. I’m the greatest poker player EVER.
In theory folding may be ok, but I’ve seen enough times where a microstakes player has some kind of pocket pair type hand in a spot like this so in practice I call. They are fish after all. Showing up at rivers like this too often with hands they shouldn’t have is part of what makes them fish.
Imo it's a pretty clear fold OTR vs reg. Vs fish less clear. Turn is fine to check also. Flop is slightly big but can be good for some exploitative reasons.
I would normally say auto fold because our flop sizing should remove all PP from vilain's range. But Vilain has played 5/9 hands, and we know that one of them was a call from the sb against a 2.5x open. I think he can have enough random crap here to call and not feel too bad about it. He can have a PP, AK, AQ, KQ, A5, A4, A3, A2, 56, 75, 76, A9... Is he betting these as value or as bluff? Neither, he is just betting because you checked.
This is usually a fold at microstakes.
How often do you see exotic bluffs?
