Advice for Exploits v. Fish NL5/10c
I played next to this guy for a bit. He paid to see every flop, limping, calling opens, and calling 3bets. He also rarely found the fold button on later streets. I'm a little torn on how I played this. On one hand, I'm tried to apply pressure expecting to have nothing because he plays so wide. On the other hand, he calls so wide, it's arguably unwise to keep pumping money into the pot if he isn't going to fold. I struggle with bet sizing. Any feedback is appreciated.
Hero, BB ~ stack: 100 BB; Villain, CO ~ stack: 41.2BBs
(five handed)
Hero ~ Ac8d
UTG folds
CO (Villain) limps
BTN bets 3BBs
SB folds
Hero (BB) calls
CO calls
Pot = 9 BBs
FLOP: 5hAh7s
BB bets 6BB
CO calls
BTN folds
Pot = 20.4BBs
TURN: 6d
BB bets 12BBs
CO calls
Pot = 43BBs
RIVER: 5d (Board: 5hAh7s6d5d)
BB bets 22BB (focing CO all in)
CO calls, all in--20.2BBs
Villain shows 53o, wins.
I feel like this hand should either (1) not be such a big-ish loss or (2) a win. I have a feeling I misplayed something, so that's where I'd love some help.

With the btn in the hand I think you really have to check flops. Turn and river seem fine if villain has a high wtsd
Why are you donk betting 2/3 pot on this flop? Button certainly has a lot of hands that dominate A8. If he checks it back, pot control is not the worst thing in the world for your hand. I just don’t see the point of the donk bet here, especially multi-way with a sticky CO.
As for the rest of the hand, just a bad beat against this player type. You are way ahead of his continuing range. He is a calling station; you should be betting for thin value against him. Sometimes that is going to backfire.
Remember, beating a fish does NOT mean you win every pot you play against him. It just means that you profit long-term.
Fold preflop, marginal hand that will 95% go postflop multiway while you are OOP.
Your also over valued you top pair MW, be much more carefull vs 2 ranges that both can have many better hands.
