BB defend most likely very misplayed

This is a hand I played yesterday on ACR. I've just been getting back into poker after nearly a decade off, so keep that in mind when responding. Also, I'm mostly aware that this play was not a good play and that I feel like I essentially punted my money. I'm just looking for other opinions as well. Thanks for your time.

I understand this as being bb vs lowjack

Flop, vilain is already saying that he has big overpair+ or a very strong draw. I don't understand why we want to raise top pair against that range. Even if he folds a lot of his overpairs, you're still ending up playing OOP against a strong range.

Turn, you are now saying you have T9 or a draw. You have 0 fold equity.

River you ae never vilain to fold anything worse. So you are just making a donation I guess?

Thank you for your response. I didn't really consider a draw on the flop, which is definitely a mistake. I was just thinking AK or KQ KJ AJ stuff like that. What I was thinking with a check raise was repping that I had a set. I suppose that's also a mistake. The river bet was just finishing my story I guess. Like I said in my OP, it was certainly not a good play. But also wanted to understand how I might have played it better?
