[BetMGM/PartyPoker Michigan]
Don't want to dilute the Stars thread with chatter about PartyPoker / BetMGM Poker in Michigan.
Working with customer sup
I just noticed the same. Lame.
I will say, the promotions/offers are much better on this site than WSOP.
What is going on w/ the MTT schedule tonight?
Test tourneys and hardly anything else?
Getting location issues and noticed people folding without any action to them :/
Would be cool if they fixed this
Anyone know how to change the sound of the beeping sound when your time is getting low? It is ridiculously annoying. I suppose that could be a feature, because it can make people act faster since it is so annoying. I personally find it so obnoxious and would love to change it if there is a way.
The annoying sound is alert1 and alert2. Thanks so much for this. It was driving me crazy! I just copied the sound file from PokerStars and overwrote it for those two sound bites.
Glad it worked out! May need to do it again whenever the client updates every couple of months.
Hiya,
Moving to MI in June. Do Spins qualify for rakeback on MGM?
Thanks
Yes.
I'd explain more, but BetMGM is expected to connect their Michigan/New Jersey pool with Pennsylvania before June. When merge happens, they may change their rakeback system, as well as the spin odds.
Good luck, and we'll see you at the tables soon.
Anyone try out the first day post merge? Was so happy to see so many tables of 200/500NL, but each table turns out to be 6 regs lol. Everyone is trying to figure out who's a fish and who is a pro rn with a ton of confusion.
Games are pretty bad from initial day imo (also PA regs play super weird, one reg cold calls 3bets on BTN which I've never seen anyone actually play that line from solver output)
I'll be the glass half empty guy:
1. Still only 1 tournament one can register per hour (9:05am-1:05pm). I thought more players meant more games would be offered.
2. There's still a tournament blackout from 2:45am-9:05am. I thought more players meant more games would be offered.
3. Spin prizes didn't change at all. It's still $1 to win $2,000, $5 to win $10,000, etc. I thought more players meant bigger prizes would be offered. Of note, WSOP didn't change their spin prizes at all either, but for $1 I can win $10,000 and for $5 I can win $50,000. Not to mention, WSOP seems to offer spin leaderboards year round. BetMGM needs to be more competitive in the 'spin' area.
4. Unless I'm wrong, the first day of the NJ/MI merge, BetMGM offered a reload bonus. This time, no bonus.
5. Other than $2 satellites, $5 tournaments are the minimum. Of note, prior to the NJ/MI merge, they offered $2 regular tournaments. Again, I thought more players meant more games would be offered.
6. Some tournaments barely got a guarantee boost, while others didn't even get a boost. Of note, WSOP had this same issue.
Obviously, there's good things that came from the merge, but I can't help be a little disappointed with first impressions after a big state joined the pool.

So many grinders since merging with NJ and now PA…Michigan really was a lot better on their own even with a smaller player base.

$500 reload bonus for BetMGM on Friday.
chatted with support and apparently this 500$ reload bonus is only available to NJ and MICHIGAN and not available to PA players which is dumb
Send them a screenshot. I had an issue before and they honored it after I sent them a screenshot.
I'm pretty sure on mgm, as soon as you enter the code you can see if it's valid for you or not..
But yea, I'm willing to bet it works for everyone available to play.

I'm in PA and the games were crazy soft the majority of the time before the merger. Still a few pretty soft tables but not like it was. Just my pov
Michigan here- games have been much better at my stakes at least (50nl).
Games are awful at 200nl they should rly think about putting a table cap on 4 or less so many nit grinders like ghostfacescream saturating the games
Games are bad at 200NL+ because PA and NJ regs are duking it out, have never seen so many tables of all regs and no fish going for more than one orbit.
This ecosystem is not sustainable, my prediction is that some of the weaker regs at 200NL+ are going to start dropping down stakes or exit the game altogether.
As for myself, I'm spending some more time studying for the near future. The PA regs goes down a few game trees that is not typically seen in NJ ( for example small 1/3 pot checkraise OOP).
