[Phenom Poker] Official Thread

Welcome to the official thread for Phenom Poker! My name is Michael Dunlap and I am part of the Phenom team, focusing on marketing and communications.

Phenom aims to be the first truly community-driven poker site in existence. Created by players, for players and owned by the player community.

Why Phenom Poker

Play a raked hand, you're an owner.

We have a revolutionary way of handling rakeback and player benefits, centered around the PHNM token. This token cannot be purchased, it cannot be sold, it can only be earned through play or through referring new players. You can learn more about the PHNM token here.

Long story short, you earn rakeback that at the end of the week gets paid out in the PHNM token. Those tokens earn you rakeback in perpetuity. Yes, forever. Just want regular rakeback? You can sell your tokens. Want to hold them and continue to earn even if you don't play? That's the beautiful part of the system. Once you're an owner (literally one raked hand), your tokens will earn forever.

You have a say in all that we do.

We don't want Phenom Poker to just be the result of ideas from a few people. We want Phenom to be constantly evolving from ideas and desires of the community as a whole. Join the community to discuss anything. Whether it's here, on Discord, on Telegram or if you tap us on the shoulder in the street, we want to hear from you and your voice matters. Ask for a new game variant, propose governance or suggest a promotion. If the players want it, we will deliver.

What games and limits we offer.

We spread limits from micros (.02/.05) all the way up to high stakes (300/600). We offer all of the regular games (NLH, PLO, PLO5, Stud, Draw) as well as a number of different mix variants (Badugi, Badeucy, Triple Draw, Dramaha, etc).

Since launch (early October 2024), we have seen regular low-to-mid stakes NLH, PLO, Big O and Mixed games being played. There are also a handful of HU tables regularly going.

In the next few months, we'll be adding PLO6, Super Stud, Chinese Poker, and of course...tournaments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a standalone client?

As of today's date, we have built out the client and are going through testing. Keep an eye out for more announcements in the very near future.

Can I deposit via PayPal or something other than a crypto wallet?

You may only deposit via a crypto wallet, however, we have built a tool where you can convert your currency (see supported currencies here) into USDT directly in your Phenom account.

We are always around and willing to help folks learn the ins-and-outs of depositing crypto. We also have a number of resources to help you, including our tutorial videos at YouTube.

I'd really like to see (insert feature here).

Our product roadmap (like everything else we do) is there for you to look at and vote on as an owner of the site. Once you're logged in, simply click on the menu and select "roadmap." From there, you'll see what we're currently working on and what we're considering working on. If you don't see your idea, pitch it to us!

Currently in progress are tournaments, leaderboards, updated dashboards, improved UI and more.

Have questions? Comments? Concerns? Feel free to ask. I'm here daily and am happy to discuss anything and everything around Phenom Poker. Hope to see you on the (digital) felt!

Nice!

Official thread!

Since I didn't get a chance to reply to your question on the other thread since it is now closed.

That's being discussed as I type this reply! One thing we are developing that will be released in the upcoming weeks is a rake race/leaderboards. Whether the winners earn tokens, USDT or tournament entries hasn't yet been decided.

You're an owner, Jay, what kind of promotion would you like to see?

Honestly, leaderboards seem good. They get players playing more and longer. Would there be different leaderboards based on stake level or game types?

For me, stake level would be important because I play micros. Also, some games like split games seem to generate more rake because pots are bigger. The site is really drives a lot of mixed games so it's not like the leaderboards could solely be NLHE.

I don't know how we could accommodate the smaller player base with multiple different types of leaderboards.

There will definitely be different levels for leaderboards. You're spot on in saying that it would favor the highest limits. As for mixed games driving more revenue, I'm not sure there. They do have less hands go unraked (folded before flop) but NLHE sees 100%+ more hands. Will have to keep an eye on it and make sure there's a fair way to do it.

Thanks for your reply, love seeing that you're invested in Phenom.
