[WSOP.com Nevada] Unofficial thread
Since WSOP locked their thread, why can't we have our own?
Can someone please explain to me why a cash bonus cost less points that a blast ticket of the same value? You would think it would be the other way around since WSOP makes rake off the blast. There is no reason to pay more points for a blast when you can just buy in with cash. Who is making these decisions at WSOP?
Because the bonuses aren't truly cash at face value. You have to play through them, which helps generate more rakeback for the site. You cannot withdraw the cash bonus.
They are not. Next time you redeem for a cash bonus, you will see your account balance increase. But when you go to the cashier, you will see that you cannot withdraw the bonus portion of your balance. The bonus must be played through. (Granted, these bonuses play through much more quickly than the deposit bonuses.)
I just returned to Las Vegas after being gone for several months and downloaded the WSOP online update. What happened to the 9-handed cash tables? I'm only seeing 6-handed tables

Same thing with what happened to the PLO tables from over a year ago. They dropped all 8/9 max cash games for shorthanded 6-max tables.
Welcome to an environment of more paying your blinds, more hand volume, probably more rake for WSOP.
Your best bet for 8/9 handed poker is online tournaments or live cash which is 8 handed nowadays.
Are points accumulating slower than in previous months?

Pennsylvania to join MSIGA! Seems like they're hoping to get it done quickly which they think could be by the end of this year.

Great News! Considering that the holiday season is among us, getting PA players connected with the other states is beyond ambitious to happen this year. Considering all of the testing/security measures, etc., I'm predicting April 2025 at the earliest. Regardless of time-frame, it's happening, which is awesome!
I personally believe that this is the domino effect that we've been waiting for i.e. this should now incentivize West Virginia to go live and connect, Connecticut to get things started and find a way to connect, Delaware to run poker again, BetMGM to launch in NV, and for states like NY to at the very least get a poker only bill done.
Pennsylvania is Joining Multi-State Poker – Here’s What Happens Next
"One thing will be easier for Pennsylvania operators — according to Harbach, operators that have already launched online poker in the state would not be subject to additional approval from the PGCB before offering multi-state poker.
That means BetMGM Poker PA, PokerStars PA, and WSOP PA would be clear to launch multi-state poker from the get-go. It’s unclear at this stage if BetRivers Poker PA, which is close to launching in the Pennsylvania, would also be allowed to proceed in that manner. (In an interesting twist, Dunbar was invited to play BetRivers Poker PA during the soft launch period)."
Bring back online poker to all the United States!
Is anyone experiencing issues updating the client on windows?
I wonder if this means no HUD will become a default for the poker industry in USA
This month has been very frustrating. I'm going to call support later and try to figure this out. I'm only at level 48 so far as I haven't been playing as much as usual. That being said, my points haven't been moving after certain sessions. Are they not giving online rewards for heads up? I've played sessions of .50-1 hu and plo and plo 8 and after around a half hour with plenty of rake being paid, my points haven't budged. I don't remember this in previous months. Is this a glitch? Anyone else have this problem?

I had wanted to respond to this before, but I dont have any concrete method of tracking other than by feel. Im currently at LVL 256. I play MOSTLY heads up and short handed (all games). My heads up points barely move when i play at any level under 2-5.... and it feels really slow. I can't speak to whether im making less this month relative to other months.
That being said, what I will say absolutely.... is that the initial levels move so slow that if you're playing significantly less and basically stuck at the lower levels (and I have a few months where ive done this also) it can almost feel like you're making zero progess.
But again, thats just observational... because I have no real way of knowing whether what I 'earn' in terms of points is accurate or not.
Im sure this response won't help much... but I don't like when reputable players/posters have concerns and get no feedback, so I hope this at least starts a conversation about it... because we rely on each other to solve these problems fundamentally as WSOP is basically a non factor in assisting with any issues.

Thank you for your reply! I agree about the low levels but I just didn't remember earning zero reward credits at a level in the forties. I wish you could just earn the top tier like champions club and not have to worry about it for a while. I've never seen a site that makes you start over at the end of each month.
Sometimes I don't get a chance to play until the mid or end of the month, and if I'm just going to be reset at level 1 within a few days regardless of how much volume I put in that short time-frame, I don't gamble; I'll just wait for the inevitable reset, and put in volume early in order to get a jump start for the rest of the month. I'm definitely not a fan of WSOP resetting every month.
The resetting is ridiculous... and was one of the things that as I understood it... from the very high level conversations that they had coming out of the site reset.... they were aware of and were going to address. Im not holding my breath LMAO. I just understand that unless im willing to play basically high volume for the entirety of the month, its not worth it and I wont be earning anything.
Obviously, its not what they should want... but its clear that for the most part they dont know/understand what they should want and we're on our own.
Any advice for grinding about 5k in Tier credits for cash and/or MTTs before end of the year?
I read that I get "1 Tier Credit for every 50 Points." Does that mean AP points?
Anyone else having issue with Macbook? Can't seem to upgrade the latest version of software on Mac.. no issue on PC..
Pennsylvania Gaming Regulator Takes First Step towards Multi-State Poker
"At its monthly meeting on Wednesday, the board that governs the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) unanimously ratified a request for the state to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA). It’s the next step in the process"
